IMAGINE THE ANGST THE HURT THE TEARS THE LOVEEEEE!!!!!
🫵 are you guys using my Caleb-addled brain to sneak around my “I don’t take requests” condition. /lh 😔 this is who I am now, I guess. I see Caleb, I cave… 🥺
Endless Summer
It was an ambush, another attempt on his life.
It was the thirteenth time in three months, as a matter of fact. Caleb had thwarted all of the previous attempts with ease, always on guard, untrusting of those who claimed to have vowed their loyalty to him as their colonel.
As you learned, you couldn’t trust anyone in Skyhaven, much less the Farspace Fleet. Dark secrets surrounded this seemingly elite entity and though it appeared like the place ran like a machine with perfect precision and efficiency, there was still an insidious side that Caleb refused to let you see.
It wasn’t just his life they were after. They were after yours as well, using you as the ultimate pawn to get to him. Little do they suspect, while you may be his greatest weakness, you were also his strength, his sole reason to persevere.
This was to be a fatal lesson for many to learn.
It was supposed to be a celebratory banquet, thrown in honor of the Farspace Fleet’s Colonel’s latest achievements. There were no deceptions by the hosts, but a traitorous group seized this opportunity to trap the young colonel and all doors within the banquet halls locked, keeping many of the guests hostages in the process.
Within the center of the room, Caleb calmly eyed all of the familiar faces that loomed overhead on the second floor as all around, innocent guests rushed to the exits, banging and screaming for help. He tried to push you away, get you to safety.
They were after him, after all. You didn’t need to be in the crossfires.
You didn’t have time to react, hearing that first gunshot that led the way for the onslaught of bullets.
Something in Caleb snapped that night. The barrage of bullets that came at him and you from all directions would have taken down anyone, but they all froze midair only because of his Evol freezing them in their track and keeping them suspended as if time had frozen at this very moment. He soon, however, learned it was merely a distraction.
Ca…leb…
The moment he saw the crimson blood seeping from your side, that knife pulled out quickly, and you were falling, eyes closing, as he ran toward you yelling your name. His Evol flared out of control, the gravity in the room suddenly immensely heavy, as dozens of men were pulled to their knees in futile struggles.
Open your eyes, he pleaded, his uniform soaked with your blood. His face twisted in pain, a million thoughts rushing through his mind, all of the memories of the past resurfaced in quick successions. All of those years of smiles and laughter that transitioned to pain and distrust only to slowly return to some semblances of the past were now coming to an end before his very eyes. He couldn’t lose you like this, not when he had promised that he would make things right again, to be the man that you deserved. Please…please…
You struggled to breathe, the pain unlike anything you had experienced in your life. As he watched you teetered closer to death, he was filled with wrath, an anger that could not be calmed by any forces in this world.
Caleb held his hand out, and a gun laying on the floor levitated before it rushed into his grip from across the room, and without a thought or any remorse or even hesitancy, he fired bullet after bullet into each man’s head, a clean shot straight through the center, not flinching even as the surrounding guests screamed and huddled to the floor, covering their ears from that violent, horrid sound.
When the last traitor fell, Caleb dropped the gun with a clatter, and his arms wrapped entirely around you, pulling you closer to his body for warmth. Your breathing had weakened even more, but he could still save you. He hadn’t failed you. Not yet, not ever. You were going to live. He would make sure of it.
Even if he now realized you were safer away from him.
Colonel Caleb, you had only slept for four hours last night, the robotic voice of an OTTO said with some semblance of concern in its artificial vocal. It levitated after its owner as the young colonel adjusted his uniform. The robot continued, explaining, An adult man of your age requires ei—
“I’ve slept enough,” he interrupted firmly, ignoring the robot, whose monitor quickly displayed a digitalized look of concern. Caleb had thought often of shutting down the robot and dismantling it, but he could never carry through, remembering that he had purchased this robot for you.
In this cold, monotonous so-called-home of his in Skyhaven, Caleb had few things that reminded him of you. A few plushies you two had won together sat on his living room couch, some snapshots you two had taken together at a photobooth, and perhaps a few furniture pieces you had ordered to be sent directly to his home. You had been in the process of bringing warmth and life into this place when everything came to an abrupt stop.
If he hadn’t taken you to that banquet that night nearly two years ago, Caleb wondered how things would have played out. You wouldn’t have gotten injured that night, but he feared perhaps it would just delay that same outcome. That night, he found himself at a fork in the road, forced to make a decision that would change the course of both of your lives.
Keep you by his side, where he had foolishly believed you would always be safe under his protection, or, let you go, let you believe that whatever had happened that night, he was the one who had died, finally taken away by Death himself. It was better to let you believe he had actually died this time, to keep you from searching for him, to keep you far away from Skyhaven—to keep you from him.
Since that night almost two years ago, Caleb’s nightmares had worsened. He relived the dreadful night, but he had also had other terrifying dreams so horrendous, he would wake up screaming in cold sweats, completely disoriented, unsure if he was trapped within another layer of the nightmare, or if he was truly awake.
“She’s safe, she’s safe,” he would often mutter to himself, an attempt to convince himself that he had made the right choice, that setting you free was the only way he could keep you safe. As long as you lived, he would bear the weight of his sacrifice, even if it meant never seeing you ever again.
It was sunny in Linkon, not a cloud in the sky, and the weather warm and inviting, but to Caleb, it was a place he had forbidden himself from ever stepping foot in again, out of fear that your paths would cross. In all of those times since he had distanced himself from you, allowed you to believe he was dead, he had managed to avoid any reason to step foot in the place that was once his home.
When his adjutant, Liam, had informed Caleb that his schedule required him to attend a conference meeting in Linkon, the young colonel stiffened, the atmosphere in the room stifling almost as if he was using his Evol. He suppressed his initial instinct to yell, knowing Liam was well aware of Caleb’s situation and had in the past made the necessary arrangements to prevent him from having any reason to step foot in that city.
It seemed he couldn’t stay away from Linkon forever, so he resigned to this situation, still remaining vigilant in his stance. Linkon was a big city, and there was no reason for your paths to cross. He would make do with this troublesome situation for the time being.
Now, Caleb had intended to return to Skyhaven the moment the meeting ended, and yet, against his better judgment, he found himself wandering down familiar streets, lost in memories of happier times. As he walked, before his eyes, he saw the silhouettes of him and you as children running down the street after school to your favorite little vintage grocery store.
Caleb, you dummy, you can’t use your Evol!
Don’t blame my Evol because you can’t run fast on those short legs, pipsqueak!
Caleb chuckled. He couldn’t help it. The memories of those years seemed so much more carefree. He often wished to go back to that time when the only things that weighed on yours and his shoulders were school or silly childish arguments.
As he approached the old grocery store, closed just a few years prior, he was surprised to learn that it was now under new ownership. The familiar place of his childhood was now a small trendy café, popular with college students and young couples.
To his astonishment—and, perhaps, also relief—the vibrant hydrangea garden in the back remained. Bushes of the white, blue, and pink flowers bloomed in the garden, showing that its new owner took well care of the plants. They looked like the hydrangeas of his childhood, of those long summer afternoons that never seemed to end as he and you made this place just another secret hideout only you two would ever know. As he walked down a beaten path, distracted, he was stirred out of his nostalgic thoughts when he felt something bumped into his leg. He peered down, surprised to see a little girl in a light orange dress, the same color as the sunset he used to see in his airplane when he was a pilot, was clinging to his leg. He looked around, not seeing any adult in sight to indicate they were the child’s guardian.
He furrowed his brows, a little in annoyance, as he was not prepared to suddenly be grappled with the responsibility of a lost child. He knelt down lower, and immediately, he startled as he took in the little girl’s appearance, a near perfect carbon copy of you, but the eyes—he stared into sweet little violet eyes that mirrored his own, seeing his shocked face reflected in these orbs. The girl looked up at him with curiosity, the wind swaying her short bob while a little yellow chunky cartoon airplane hairclip held her side bangs in place.
Suddenly, she started tearing up, breaking Caleb out of his trance and for the first time in a while, he felt panicked, unsure of what to do. The girl started to cry and Caleb immediately lifted her up, her head resting onto his shoulder as he rubbed her back and soothed her.
He shushed her gently, his caregiver instinct reignited after years of dormancy. “Why are you crying, sweetheart?” he asked her gently, his soothing voice a complete opposite to the tone he used as colonel.
The girl sobbed. She looked so young, Caleb realized, surmising that she probably had barely started learning to speak.
“Are you lost?” he asked in that same tender tone despite knowing the child would be unable to answer him. He continued, “You miss your mommy, don’t you?”
He rubbed her back again, wondering with trepidation if this child’s mother was who he thought it would be. For just a second, his heart stopped when he felt the little girl gripping the fabric of his uniform with her small hands. Quickly, he recomposed himself.
“It’s alright,” he whispered, his hand smoothed the back of her hair. “Let’s go look for your Mommy, alright?”
“Ma...ma…” the girl struggled to say. She rubbed her face against Caleb’s shoulder, and he smiled gently, unbothered that his once pristine uniform was now covered in a child’s snot.
“Okay, mama,” he repeated, “I’ll help you find your mama, sweetheart.”
When he was just about to turn around to head back to the café, he froze again, hearing a familiar voice he hadn’t heard in years. He could feel his heart beating against his chest, actually feeling every heavy thump as the seconds passed and the voice grew closer, a name cried out—the little girl’s.
The child in his arms wriggled, and cried louder, seeing her mother over Caleb’s shoulder. “Mama! Mama!”
Stiffly, Caleb knelt lower and gently set the girl down to her feet, barely registering as the child toddled passed him to her mother.
A completely different feminine voice called out, angry. “Were you trying to kidnap a child in broad dayli—”
Caleb stood up and turned around, his face pale.
“Cale…Caleb?” You stared in shock, feeling like you were seeing his ghost again. Again.
“Mama…Mama…!” Your daughter nuzzled her face against your chest as you held her. You broke out of your trance and instantly redirected your attention to your child. You quickly soothed her, well aware that Caleb’s eyes were locked on you, his face just as shocked as yours but for entirely different reasons. Once the little girl calmed down you passed her off to your companion, saying, “Tara, take her back to the café.”
Tara looked at you worriedly, her eyes darting to Caleb with suspicion. One look into Caleb’s eyes, seeing that same, perfect shade of purple, and the young woman quickly understood the situation. She nodded quietly and took the girl from you. “Come on, sweetie, auntie Tara is going to buy you a cupcake, okay?”
You waited until Tara and your daughter were out of sight. You couldn’t look at him. You wanted to look at him, to make sure your eyes were not deceiving you, to make sure that this was not an illusion, not a cruel, mocking figment of your imagination. But you couldn’t. You felt cowardly in that instance, being afraid of the truth. Afraid of his reaction. Of everything.
“You were…you were pregnant?” he questioned, feeling a wave of guilt washed over him.
Just hearing those words made you realized this was him. This was Caleb, the man you thought was taken away from you. Again.
Suddenly, you broke down crying and you looked up at him with tears running down your cheeks.
“Caleb, you dummy,” you sobbed, “You fucking dummy!”
He gasped, unprepared when you rushed at him and started beating his chest half-heartedly with your small fists as you continued to sob and curse him over and over again. He let you carry out your anger, let you punished him as you saw fit in this moment, but when the punches weakened, he gently grabbed your wrists, lowering them to your sides before his arms wrapped around you in comfort, his apologies immediate.
“Yeah,” he agreed in that ever familiar soft and gentle tone reserved only for you, “I am a fucking dummy.”
You sniffled against his chest, gripping tightly the lapel of his coat.
The afternoon passed slowly, initially tensed and awkward, but eventually all of the missing pieces of the puzzle fell into place, and you both struggled to come to terms with the picture of the missing years. You peered at the man to your side, seeing Caleb hunched over, his cap in his lap, looking much like a sinner struggling to come to terms with his wrongs.
“You didn’t know,” you whispered after a while, wanting to break this stifling silence. You reached for his arm, but he tensed before his shoulders slumped again.
“That’s no excuse,” he said, looking up at you. He started to reach for your cheek, hesitating at the last second, as if he was afraid that you would recoil from his touch. He started to pull back but you grabbed at his hand, guiding it to your cheek. He stared in shock as you nuzzled your face against his palm, and you gazed at him with glistened eyes.
“You’re not allowed to die again,” you scolded him. “Promise me that.”
He nodded numbly, his voice clear and steady. “I promise,” he said, repeating in a more hushed, firm tone, “I promise.”
He leaned forward, guiding your lips to his, his words still repeating in between breath. You let him drown you in his kisses, let yourself dizzied and relent to his feverish promises. When your lips parted, just a few centimeters, his warm breath grazed over your trembling lips before he pressed another kiss to your forehead.
“I’m sorry,” he said, “I... will you…”
You looked up, seeing the struggles in his violet eyes. He appeared to hesitate again, unsure of what right he had to seek your forgiveness, wondering if he was overstepping the boundary between the two of you.
You gently coaxed him, seeing relief washed over his guilty features. “Will I what?”
“Will you…let me make things right?” he asked, “Let me…earn your forgiveness. I…please…”
He almost wanted to say, I can’t lose you again but the words died at his lips. He, of all people, had no rights to utter such words in your presence. He looked so defeated, beaten down to the point he no longer recognized himself anymore.
You took his hand, just like you always seemed to do, and you pulled him to his feet, to his surprise. He gazed at you questionably, his heart stopping at your words.
“Caleb,” you said his name so sweetly, “I want you to meet…our daughter.”
The summer air was warm even as the sky darkened, and stars after stars appeared above to illuminate the world below. The gentle breeze ruffled Caleb’s hair as he stared down at the sleeping girl in his arms. Maybe it was because she was still so young and impressionable, or perhaps she could already sense who he was to her, but the girl clung to him immediately, already feeling safe and protected in his presence.
His heart felt heavy, overwhelmed by guilt, a feeling of failure, and also of self-loathing, but as he gazed down at his daughter, another feeling stirred, just as intense but much more forgiving. He didn’t think he could feel such love as he did now as he peered down at the sleeping girl, nuzzled against him on his lap, peacefully slumbering away.
He wondered what she was dreaming of as he admired how much she resembled her mother. Hesitantly, he let his finger caressed her cheek, in complete, silent awe at how soft and delicate her skin was. He was almost afraid of hurting her, feeling a need to protect her just as he protected her mother. He looked up at you, his cheeks and ears reddening when he realized you had been laughing at his expense.
“It’s alright,” you told him amid your giggles.
“You’re laughing at me.”
“You deserve it, you big dummy.”
He let out a huff, in mock annoyance, but he agreed with you. “Alright,” he conceded, “I deserve it.”
“Do you want to begin your path to seeking forgiveness from us?” you asked him, a playful, teasing lilt in your voice, unmissed by Caleb as he raised a brow in curiosity.
“Just like that?” he questioned, confused by your leniency with him.
You nodded. “You still love me, right?”
“I’ve never stopped,” he said, his solemn words had you blushing against your better judgment, your heart quickening when he looked at you so lovelorn. You quickly composed yourself, returning to your mischievousness from seconds ago.
“You love her, right?” you asked, your eyes shifting to your sleeping daughter in his arms.
He sighed, mesmerized. “So much already,” he whispered, and again, you found yourself softening, touched by his sincerity.
“Okay, we’ll forgive you,” you answered, catching Caleb’s attention as he looked at you almost bemused by your easygoing attitude. “First step.”
“Which is?”
“You have to make us your specialty,” you said, laughing at Caleb’s look of complete bewilderment unfit for a colonel of his status. Clearly, you had blindsided him completely with this first condition. You clarified with a mischievous twinkle in your eyes, “You have to make your braised chicken wings.”
He stared at you as if not comprehending your words. You laughed and leaned closer to him, your head resting on his shoulder. “I ate a lot of braised chicken wings while pregnant,” you said, reminiscing to that lonely period in your life without his presence. You reached over and brushed your daughter’s flyaway hair out of her face, continuing softly, “But they weren’t as good as yours.”
Caleb let out a huff of breath, a soft, resigned laugh as he readjusted his arm, letting it wrapped around you as he pulled you closer into his embrace. He leaned over and kissed the top of your head. “Okay,” he answered, “I take it she also likes braised chicken wings then?”
You leaned into him, nodding once. “She’ll love yours more,” you said, and then looked up, your heart quickening again as you gazed into his beautiful violet eyes, grateful that your daughter had chosen to inherit this sole feature from her father. Breathlessly, you uttered softly, your words for his ears only, “She’ll love you.”
“And you?” he whispered back, that same hesitancy still prominent in his tone. He looked at you expectantly as he asked, “Do you still love me?”
“I’ve never stopped,” you echoed his words back to him, continuing in that same hushed tone, “I’ll always love my dummy Caleb.”
“Alright,” he said, his voice resigned, holding you just a bit tighter, as if he was afraid this was a cruel, taunting dream he would wake up from.
As Caleb watched your eyes closed, he looked down, eyes darting from you to his daughter, and he wondered if he deserved any of this. In the warm summer night, surrounded by the blossoming blue and pink and white hydrangeas, he silently apologized for his mistakes, promising that for the remainder of his life, he would become a better man, deserving of both of you.
Just like the little boy from long ago, once he had made a promise to you, he would never break it.
He swore it on his life.

Age Is Just a Number…Right? - Luke Hughes
Summary: Luke. Age gap. Jack being a menace as usual, making sure you're not getting away that easy. Warning: Implied sexual situations, mature language, flirtation, age gap (6 years)
Note: Hey, lovelies! So, originally, this fic was all about Macklin Celebrini and Will Smith, but then I realized—Will is 19, and honestly, he’s just a baby to me. Even if he said he loves older woman. Boy go back to kinder garden. (Sorry Will, love you, I promise!) So, I decided to swap in the Hughes boys instead. I’ve gotta be honest, it gave me a bit of a headache. Now, this started as a quick, short fic. I swear, I had every intention of keeping it short. But, well… 7048 words later, here we are. I got hit with a ton of ideas and feelings, and the story just kind of... grew on me. You’ll probably notice the tone/style shifts halfway through, and I’m definitely sorry for that!
But hey, I hope you all enjoy it despite the wild ride! ❤️ For more fun: masterlist
The first thing you notice is warmth.
A heavy arm draped over your waist. The steady rise and fall of breath against the back of your neck. The scent of clean laundry, cologne, and something distinctly him clinging to the pillow beside you.
The second thing you notice—you are not in your own bed.
Your stomach flips as your brain reboots, sluggishly piecing together fragments of last night.
The blind date.
Luke.
His charming smile. The way his chestnut curls fell into his eyes when he laughed. The way he leaned in when you spoke, like you were the only person in the room. The teasing brush of his fingers against yours when he reached for his drink. The electricity that crackled between you when you finally caved—when he kissed you outside the bar, his hands firm at your waist, his body pressing into yours like he couldn’t help himself.
And then… more.
Your face burns as memory after memory floods in. His hands, his mouth, the way he whispered your name like it meant something.
Nope. Not thinking about that.
Carefully, you shift beneath the covers, untangling yourself from his hold. Luke stirs but doesn’t wake, his arm slipping away as you ease yourself upright.
That’s when it really hits you.
He looks so young.
His chestnut curls are a mess, his lips slightly parted, his entire face softened in sleep. He looks… peaceful. Innocent, almost.
A strange unease settles in your stomach.
Your gaze flickers around the unfamiliar room. It’s nice but lived-in—hockey gear shoved into the corner, a few discarded clothes on a chair. Your eyes land on the nightstand, where his wallet sits slightly open.
You don’t mean to snoop. You really don’t.
But something about last night nags at you.
Just a quick peek. Just to make sure.
Fingers trembling, you reach for it, flip it open.
And your heart stops.
Luke Hughes. Age: 21.
Twenty fucking one.
As in, young enough to still pull all-nighters for fun. As in, could still be in college.
And you? You are twenty-seven.
Oh. My. God.
Your hands fly to your phone as you furiously type out a message to your friend.
"WHAT THE HELL?! YOU SET ME UP WITH A 21-YEAR-OLD. I AM A GROWN WOMAN. I PAY FOR MY OWN HEALTH INSURANCE."
No response.
Coward.
Panic thrums in your veins as you stare at Luke—still peacefully asleep, completely unaware that you are having a full-blown identity crisis in his bed.
You need to leave. Now.
Right?
But for some reason, you hesitate.
Because Luke… Luke is the first guy in a long time who actually made you interested. Who made you laugh so hard you snorted into your drink. Who listened—really listened—when you talked, instead of just waiting for his turn to speak. And, well. The man or more like a boy, had managed to get you to orgasm. Twice!
Which, considering your track record, felt almost miraculous.
Your past partners had barely managed to get you there once—if at all.
And now you’re just supposed to sneak out of here like it never happened? Like he was just another bad decision?
Your stomach twists.
But then you glance at the wallet again. Twenty-one.
Yeah. You need to go.
Sliding out of bed as silently as possible, you scan the room for your clothes. Your shirt is on the floor, your jeans halfway under the bed. You grab them quickly, yanking them on with the precision of someone defusing a bomb. Bra? Found. Socks? One is missing, but you’ll live.
Once fully dressed, you tiptoe to the door. Your shoes. They’re outside the room. You remember kicking them off in the hallway.
One deep breath.
You ease the door open, peeking into the dimly lit living room.
Empty.
Good.
You take two careful steps out, eyes locked on your shoes near the front door. Almost there. Just a few more—
“Busted.”
You scream.
Not a blood-curdling horror movie scream, but a very real, very startled yelp that absolutely does not help you maintain any dignity in this situation.
Your body jolts like you’ve just been electrocuted, arms flailing wildly as you spin toward the voice.
There, sprawled across the couch, is a guy watching you like this is the best morning of his life.
Tall. Ridiculously handsome. Light brown hair, messy in a way that suggests he just woke up. Sharp cheekbones. Blue eyes filled with pure mischief.
And a smirk so unbearably smug that you immediately want to punch it off his face.
You clutch your chest, heart racing. “Jesus Christ, who the hell are you?!”
The guy grins wider. “Damn. Didn’t even recognize me? That hurts.”
“Am I supposed to?”You blink, still catching your breath.
His smirk falters for half a second before returning full force. “Oh, that’s good. That’s really good.” He tilts his head, studying you like you’re some kind of rare specimen. “You actually have no idea who I am, do you?”
“Why the hell would I?” Your frown deepens.
He lets out a dramatic sigh, like this is somehow the greatest tragedy to ever befall him.
“You’re telling me,” he starts, sitting up slightly, resting his arms on his knees, fully entertained, “that you came home with my brother, slept with him, and have no idea who we are?”
Your stomach drops.
Brother?
You knew Luke had brothers—he mentioned it—but you had no idea they were famous.
Your eyes flick toward the bedroom, then back to him. “You’re—wait, you’re one of Luke’s brothers?”
He snorts. “Wow. No recognition at all. That is humbling.”
“Should I recognize you?” You narrow your eyes at him.
“Oh, I don’t know.” He shrugs, mock-offended, but there’s a glint of amusement in his eyes. “I guess I’m only one of the most famous people in this city.”
You blink, a little thrown off. “…You’re a local weatherman?”
He chokes, eyes widening. “A what?!”
“You’re acting like I should know you,” you say, raising an eyebrow. “I don’t keep up with the news, but you definitely have the vibe of a guy who points at maps for a living.”
He definitely doesn’t. If anything, he looks more like a kooky stripper with an annoyingly fit body. But there’s no way you’re feeding his ego—this idiot would probably take it as a compliment.
For a split second, he just stares at you, his mouth hanging slightly open.
Then, as if the tension snaps, he howls—full-body laughter, throwing his head back and wiping a fake tear from his eye.
“Oh my God,” he wheezes, clutching his stomach. “This is the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
You cross your arms, trying to mask the irritation bubbling up. “Glad I could contribute to your morning entertainment.”
“No, you don’t get it,” he says between gasps for air, leaning forward with an infectious grin. “This is amazing. Incredible. I live for moments like this.”
You raise an eyebrow, your patience wearing thin. “Moments like what?” you snap, unable to hide the rising edge in your voice. Honestly, you’re just relieved Luke didn’t inherit Jack’s over-the-top, obnoxious personality. If he had, you probably would’ve bailed on this blind date five minutes in.
“Moments where I get to witness something so spectacularly awkward, so painfully embarrassing, that it will sustain me for weeks.”
You glare at him with pure annoyance. “I hate you already.”
He clutches his chest dramatically. “Ouch. That wounds me.”
“You’ll survive.”
“Oh, no doubt.” He smirks, and for a moment, it almost reminds you of Luke—though the two brothers couldn’t look more different. But that same confidante smile? It’s unmistakable. “Especially since I now have the upper hand in every conversation we ever have from here on out.”
“We’re never having another conversation after this!” You try to sound firm, but your voice cracks, betraying you.
He just grins wider, shaking his head like he’s heard that before. “That’s what you think.”
You exhale sharply, fed up with the entire exchange. “Look, I’m leaving. Forget you ever saw me.”
“Not a chance.” He leans back against the couch, thoroughly amused. “You’re trying to sneak out of my baby brother’s room like a damn criminal. This is gold.”
You scowl again. “I’m not sneaking out.” You fumble with your shoes, trying to get them on while defending yourself. Luckily, the hallway and living room are one open space, making your escape a bit less awkward.
“You literally just tiptoed past me like you’re starring in Mission Impossible.”
You groan. "I was trying not to wake him up." Rolling your eyes, you keep wrestling with your damn laces—of all times to betray you, it had to be now. Frustration bubbles up as you huff, "I need to go."
Jack cocks an eyebrow. "Why?"
You freeze mid-motion, exhaling hard through your nose. "...Just because."
"That's not an answer." His arms fold across his chest, his gaze pressing into you like he’s daring you to crack.
Your stomach twists. Heat rises to your face. You don’t want to say it, don’t want to give him the satisfaction—but the words rip out anyway.
“Because I just found out I slept with a 21-year-old, okay?! I’m 27. That’s a six-year difference! That’s a whole presidential term and a little extra! That’s a—”
You stop, realizing how ridiculous it sounds now that you're saying it.
Jack stares at you, blinking. There’s a long silence before you speak again, but his expression shows no understanding of the mental chaos you’re in.
You sigh and tug at your hair in frustration. “I wasn’t expecting this. I thought maybe he was older, and now… I just don’t know how to feel.”
Jack, for the first time, softens his teasing expression. But it’s clear he doesn’t quite get what you’re saying.
“Well,” he shrugs casually, “you’re still not leaving. You’re stuck here until Luke wakes up.”
“No, I’m not.” You shake your head, stubborn.
“Yes, you are!”
Before you can argue, you hear movement from the bedroom.
“Jack, why are you yelling?”
Shit.
You freeze.
Jack just grins wider.
You turn, and there he is—Luke, standing in the hallway, shirtless, hair an absolute mess, looking at you with adorable confusion.
Jack smirks. “Oh, you know. Just chatting with your date about how she was totally about to dip.”
“Wait. You’re leaving?” Luke’s voice is a mix of confusion and hurt, and suddenly, you feel a wave of guilt wash over you.
You shift awkwardly, caught in the middle of it all. “I just… didn’t want to wake you.”
Jack snickers. “Translation: she found out you’re barely legal and panicked.”
Luke’s eyes flick to his nightstand, where his wallet still sits open.
“…Wait. Is this about my age?" He sounds confused—adorably so. Too adorably.
You open your mouth, but Jack is already cackling.
“Oh, it absolutely is,” Jack says, shaking his head. “She took one look at that ID and nearly had a full-blown existential crisis.”
Your face flushes deep red. Jesus, you really can’t stand that blue-eyed bastard.
Luke blinks, then sighs, clearly frustrated a little bit. “So, last night was… amazing, but now it’s a problem because I’m 21?”
You shift uneasily. “It’s not a problem, exactly. It’s just…”
Jack grins mischievously. “Hilarious?”
You glare at him, a mix of embarrassment and irritation burning through you. “Not the word I was going for.”
Luke tilts his head, watching you closely. “Did it feel weird last night?”
Your face instantly flames. “LUKE.”
Jack cackles. “Ohhh my God, this is so good.”
Luke shrugs nonchalantly. “I’m just saying. You didn’t seem to mind my age when you were begging for—”
You lunge at him, quickly slapping a hand over his mouth. “Don’t. You. Dare.”
Jack, leaning in with barely contained joy, grins wider. “Oh, no, let’s hear it! This is the best! I live for this shit.”
You whip around, shooting daggers. “Do you really have to be here?”
Jack places a hand over his chest, feigning innocence. "Of course I do. I’m just the clueless bystander, watching your meltdown. It’s my duty as a brother. How else am I supposed to tease Lukey later?"
Luke licks his lips, glancing between you and Jack. “Wait… so you’re really freaking out over this?”
You sigh, your frustration starting to boil over. "I just… didn’t realize you were so young."
Jack snickers from the side, clearly enjoying himself. “Oh, no, I think she’s just overthinking it. But hey, it’s cute.”
Luke shoots him a glare. “Jack.”
Jack raises his hands, completely unbothered. “I’m just here to state the obvious.”
You groan, feeling a headache start to form at the base of your skull. "Can I just… go? Please?" The words come out sharper than you mean, but you’re too tired to care.
Luke looks at you, his gaze softening with that same sleepy affection from last night. You almost hate how it makes your chest ache. "You really want to leave?"
You pause for a long moment, considering.
And truthfully?
No.
You don’t.
Last night wasn’t just a fling—it was Luke.
Luke, who had you laughing through dinner, making you feel like you were the only person in the world. He treated you like you were someone worth admiring, someone worth cherishing. And when he kissed you, it felt like the first rainstorm after a drought, washing away everything but the two of you.
And now he’s standing there, messy-haired and sleepy-eyed, looking at you like he’s trying to figure out what’s going through your mind.
Jack, sensing the shift, leans back dramatically. “Ohhh, she’s thinking about it.”
You glare. “Shut up, Jack.”
Jack smirks like a little kid in the candy shop. “Nope.”
Luke lets out a heavy sigh, rubbing his face with both hands, his puppy like eyes softening as he looks at you. "Alright," he mutters, a playful smile tugging at his lips. "Let me make you breakfast before you decide I’m too young to function."
Jack perks up from the couch. “Oh, hell yeah. Stay. Luke makes a mean omelet.”
Luke shoots Jack a teasing glare, his eyes rolling in exasperation as he half-smirks. "Why are you even involved in this?" he says, clearly annoyed but with a playful edge, like he can’t decide if he should laugh or strangle his brother.
Jack shrugs dramatically. “Because I live for chaos.”
You hesitate for a moment, staring at Luke as you battle the urge to stay or run.
“…Fine. One omelet.”
Jack fist-pumps the air. “YES.”
Luke grins like he’s already won. “Good. Because I was going to make you stay anyway.”
—
You don’t know how you ended up here.
One second, you were committed to sneaking out like a thief in the night. The next?
You’re standing in Luke Hughes’ kitchen, watching him move around with annoying ease, pulling eggs and cheese out of the fridge like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
Jack, of course, is sitting at the kitchen island, grinning like the mischievous idiot he is.
“You look tense,” he observes, propping his chin in his hand and resting his elbows on his knees. “Regretting staying already?”
You shoot him a withering look. “I regret a lot of things. Letting you talk this morning is at the top of the list.”
Jack gasps dramatically, clutching his chest. “Ouch. And here I was, being such a warm and welcoming host.”
You roll your eyes. “You ambushed me.”
Jack shrugs casually, sipping his coffee. “Semantics.”
Luke, bless him, doesn’t engage. He simply smirks to himself as he cracks an egg into a pan, clearly used to Jack’s shenanigans. “Jack, are you actually gonna eat, or are you just here to be annoying?”
“Oh, I ate already. I’m just here for the show.”
You narrow your eyes at him, a smirk playing at the corner of your mouth. “Seriously, what’s your deal? You get some kind of thrill out of torturing me?”
He’s an asshole, but damn, he’s the kind of asshole that almost makes you laugh.
Jack flashes a devilish grin, clearly enjoying the chaos he's creating. "You're sharp. I like that. Smart women are way more fun to mess with." He leans back, arms crossed, his eyes twinkling with mischief as if he's already plotting his next move.
Luke huffs a laugh, the sound full of fond exasperation. He rolls his eyes, his messy hair falling into his face as he nudges Jack with his shoulder. “Just ignore him. He thrives on being a menace,” he says, shaking his head, but you can tell he's not actually mad.
Jack grins even wider, clearly proud of himself. “Yep. It’s what I do best,” he says, puffing out his chest like he’s just announced some kind of grand achievement.
You rest your elbows on the table, watching as Luke flips an omelet with impressive skill. “Okay, I’ll bite—how did you get so good at this?”
“Gotta learn some life skills when you live with Jack. Otherwise, you starve." He shoots his brother a pointed look, one that’s half annoyance, half fondness.
Jack scoffs, dramatically pressing a hand to his chest like he’s been wronged. "That’s unfair. I provide entertainment." His voice is teasing, but there’s a clear twinkle in his eye.
Luke snorts, barely stifling a laugh. "Entertainment doesn’t make up for the fact that you once tried to microwave a frozen pizza."
Your head snaps up at that, eyebrows shooting up in disbelief. "I’m sorry, what?"
Jack groans, cheeks flushing with a rare hint of embarrassment. "It was one time, and the oven took too long!" he mutters defensively, but you can see the red creeping up his neck.
Luke smirks, his eyes gleaming with mischief as he gestures vaguely toward the stove. "You almost burned the apartment down," he points out, no trace of sympathy in his voice.
Jack waves a dismissive hand. "That’s an exaggeration," he says, clearly attempting to downplay the incident, but his voice betrays the tiniest hint of guilt.
Luke shoots you a sly look, his eyes dancing with amusement as he leans in, like he’s about to let you in on a secret. “The microwave was smoking,” he adds, his voice dropping low, the tone almost playful—like he’s about to drop some juicy gossip.
Your jaw drops in disbelief. "Oh my God."
Luke, clearly pleased with the chaos he’s caused, gestures at Jack with the spatula like he’s just won some kind of victory. "See? This is why I learned how to cook."
Jack grins wide, unbothered. "And I get to reap the benefits, so really, we both win," he says with a cheeky shrug, as if his utter lack of skill somehow balances out Luke’s culinary expertise.
You laugh, shaking your head in disbelief. "I don’t know how you put up with him."
Luke smirks,"It’s a daily struggle," he says, voice deadpan, but the small curve of his lips gives away the amusement he’s trying to hide.
Jack grins, shaking his head slightly. “Oh, the betrayal. I’m crushed,” he says, his voice dripping with sarcasm, though the smirk gives him away.
Luke just rolls his eyes and slides the finished omelet onto a plate before setting it down in front of you.
You look down at it, genuinely impressed by how perfect it looks. Then, you glance back at Luke, a little taken aback. "Not gonna lie… this looks really good."
Luke’s grin widens, his eyes briefly locking with yours, the kind of connection that makes the moment feel charged. "Told you."
You pick up your fork, still a little skeptical, and take a bite. Holy hell.
Your eyes go wide in surprise. "Oh my God. This is actually amazing."
Jack leans in, looking smug...again. "See? I wasn’t lying." He gives you a little wink, clearly basking in the moment like he’s somehow been proven right.
Luke smirks, pleased by the compliment. “I take my breakfast very seriously.”
“Clearly. This might be the best decision I’ve made today.” You shake your head, chewing.
Jack gasps dramatically. “Wow. So staying was a better decision than leaving?”
You pause, realizing what you just admitted.
Jack grins like he’s just scored a win, and for a second, you seriously consider wiping that smug look off his face.
Luke’s smile, however, is filled with pure happiness, as if this moment is exactly what he’s been waiting for.
You sigh, stabbing your omelet. “I’m never gonna live this down, am I?”
Jack beams. “Absolutely not.”
Luke leans closer, his voice suddenly lower, more intimate. “I mean, I’m glad you stayed. It’s not every day I get a pretty girl in my kitchen, making my morning way more interesting.”
You freeze, fork halfway to your mouth. His words hang in the air, electric.
“Oh, so now I’m ‘pretty,’ huh?” you tease, trying to maintain your composure, though your heart skips a beat.
Luke raises an eyebrow, a slow, confident smile curling on his lips. “Oh, I thought that was obvious.” His gaze flickers down to your lips, his voice dropping even lower. “You’ve been keeping me on my toes since I woke up.”
Your cheeks warm, but you force yourself to look away, focusing on your omelet. “Flattery won’t make me forget about you being 21.”
Luke’s grin widens, and he leans in a little closer, lowering his voice just enough that only you can hear. “Maybe not. But I think it’s a pretty good start.”
Jack, completely oblivious to the flirtation unfolding right under his nose, leans back on the kitchen island with a self-satisfied grin. “God, I can’t believe I’m witnessing this. I thought I was supposed to be the one who charmed the ladies.”
Luke snorts, rolling his eyes at his brother but keeping his focus on you. “Jack’s the type to talk about it. I’m the type to show it.”
Your breath catches in your throat. That was smooth. Really smooth.
You take another bite of your omelet, trying to hide the smile spreading across your face. “You sure you don’t just want me to stay for the food?”
Luke leans back, his gaze softening as he gently takes your left hand in his, his thumb slowly tracing circles over your knuckles. “I mean… if that’s your only reason for sticking around, I won’t complain,” he murmurs, a playful yet tender smile curving his lips. “But I like to think I’ve got more to offer than just my cooking skills.”
His words, along with the warmth in his eyes, wash over you like a wave, pulling you in deeper. You lock eyes with him, your breath catching as your pulse quickens. There’s something in the way he’s looking at you, something that makes it impossible to think straight.
Then Jack clears his throat loudly, and you break the spell, feeling a little embarrassed.
“Alright, alright,” Jack says, clearly enjoying the discomfort he’s just caused. “I’ll leave you two lovebirds alone so you can finish your breakfast in peace. No need to make me a third wheel.”
You roll your eyes, but Luke doesn’t seem to mind. He just shrugs, unfazed.
“Good idea. Go entertain yourself, Jack.”
Jack winks. “Don’t mind if I do.” He stands up and heads for the door, adding, “You two just make sure to keep it PG—some of us don’t need to see that much chemistry before our coffee kicks in.”
You watch as Jack exits, still grinning like the mischievous brat he is.
As the door clicks behind Jack, the quiet of the kitchen settles in, leaving just you and Luke alone, the lingering tension between you two impossible to ignore. Luke shifts, his hands still resting on your hands as he pulls you gently into his lap. Your heart beats a little faster at the sudden closeness, but you refuse to let the thrill of it distract you from the conversation you know needs to happen.
You take a deep breath, looking up into his eyes—eyes that are soft but hold that familiar spark of mischief, the kind that makes it hard to think straight. He tilts his head slightly, a playful smirk tugging at his lips as he runs his thumb over your hand, tracing slow circles. The warmth of his touch makes your breath hitch, but you bite your lip, determined to have this talk.
“Luke,” you start, your voice softer than you intended, “We need to talk about last night. About... us.”
Luke's expression changes, the playful gleam fading into something more intense. He doesn’t pull away, though. Instead, he tightens his grip on your waist, pulling you just a little closer, and his voice drops an octave. “I thought we were past talking. I thought we were just... enjoying each other.”
His words make your pulse quicken, but you hold firm. You need to address this.
“I’m serious,” you say, your voice steady, though your chest betrays you with its nervous flutter. “I need to know where this is going, Luke. You’re 21, I’m 27. That’s a six-year difference. I’ve been through more in my life. I want a family soon. I want stability. Not... something fleeting.”
Luke’s gaze darkens, and his thumb continues its slow, soothing motion over your skin, but there’s a new intensity in his eyes. He’s quiet for a moment, absorbing your words. The air feels thick with unspoken thoughts, the weight of what you’ve just said hanging between you.
“You think I don’t want the same things?” he asks, his voice steady but with a sharp edge, not defensive—more... thoughtful. “I’m not some kid just looking for a fling. I’ve thought this through. I’m looking for something real. I’ve spent too much time in meaningless situations to want that anymore. I went to our date because I was looking for something serious. And my friend told me you’d be looking for the same thing.”
He lets your words settle, his eyes never leaving yours. “After spending the night talking with you, I felt like I wasn’t just talking to someone who’s interesting—I felt like I was talking to someone who gets it. Someone who’s looking for the same kind of connection. I’m not here for something that’ll fizzle out in a few weeks. I’m here because... I think you might be the person I’ve been waiting for.”
His words hit you in a way you weren’t prepared for. You’re caught off guard, unsure how to respond, but something stirs inside you. Something warm, something you didn’t expect. You can feel the truth of what he’s saying in your chest, and for the first time, you start to question the assumptions you’d made.
“Yeah, but you’re still figuring things out,” you say, your voice shaky now, a trace of worry creeping in. “You’re just starting out in life. Maybe you don’t want the same kind of commitment I do. I need someone who’s already ready to settle down.”
Luke doesn’t hesitate. His fingers slide up to your jaw, his touch firm but tender, like he’s grounding you to the moment. His gaze holds yours, no longer playful, but filled with something deeper. Something real.
“I’m ready for that,” he murmurs, his voice soft but full of conviction. “I know what I want. And I want you. If you’re worried about my age, let me show you I’m more than just a number.”
His words are almost a whisper, but there’s a quiet confidence in them that sends a thrill through you. His lips are so close now, you can feel his breath on your skin as he leans in, his forehead resting against yours. “I’m not asking for a lifetime yet, but I’m asking for the chance to prove myself. To prove that I’m capable of giving you the kind of future you want.”
You close your eyes, your breath catching in your throat. He’s not backing down, and the sincerity in his words leaves you no room to doubt him. But still, you can’t help but voice the doubts that swirl in your mind.
“I don’t want to get hurt, Luke,” you whisper, finally letting yourself admit the fear you’ve been pushing down. “I’ve been through enough heartache. And if you don’t want the same things I do, if you’re not ready for it... I don’t know if I can take that risk.”
Luke leans in just a little more, his lips brushing against your cheek before he pulls back slightly, his hands cradling your face. He’s close enough that you can feel the warmth of his skin, the steadiness of his gaze. “I’m ready for you. Ready for everything that comes with it,” he says, his voice resolute. “I wouldn’t be here, sitting with you like this, if I wasn’t.”
You search his eyes for any sign of hesitation, but there’s none. What you see instead is determination—an unspoken promise that, for all his age, he knows what he wants and is willing to fight for it.
The air between you two shifts, the quiet between you no longer heavy with doubt, but filled with something new. Something that makes your pulse race.
“Okay,” you whisper, your voice barely audible. “Then show me.”
At that, his lips crash against yours, the kiss deep and slow, filled with all the unspoken things you’ve both been dancing around. His hands slide to your back, pulling you closer as the kiss deepens. Your hands find their way to his curls, tugging him in as if you can’t get close enough. The world around you fades away—there’s only the feeling of his mouth against yours, the pressure of his body against yours, the shared certainty that whatever this is, it’s more than just physical.
When you finally pull away, both breathless, Luke grins, his forehead resting against yours.
Luke leans back a little bit, his eyes gleaming with that mischievous glint as he watches you, a teasing smile playing at the corners of his lips. "You know," he says casually, his voice thick with satisfaction, "I have to admit... I’ve never had a night quite like that. You really know how to use that beautiful mouth of yours."
You glance over at him, raising an eyebrow. "Oh? What do you mean?"
Luke shifts a little closer, his grin widening. "Well, I’ve had my fair share of nights, but... last night? You...You were next level. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to be that blown away."
You feel your cheeks flush, a mix of embarrassment and flattery. "Really? Well, I kinda feel the same. I’ve never... finished two times in one night."
Luke’s eyes narrow in surprise. "What?! Baby, that wasn’t even that much. I think we can go for four or five next time." He winks, his tone playful, but there's a hint of challenge in his voice.
You laugh, trying to hide the blush creeping up your neck. "Is that so? You really think you can keep up?"
Luke smirks, leaning in just a little closer, his voice low and confident. "Oh, I’m definitely up for the challenge. You just wait."
You raise an eyebrow, a teasing smile forming on your lips. "Maybe this whole 'young boyfriend' thing isn’t such a bad idea after all... Good stamina and all that."
Luke grins, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Told ya!" He leans in, planting a series of quick, soft kisses across your face and neck, each one sending a delightful shiver through your skin. You can't help but laugh at his actions, brushing your nose against his cheek as your giggles mix with his gentle kisses.
Just as you're starting to recover from his playful assault, a voice slices through the moment like an ice-cold splash of water.
"Can you drop the sex talk, guys?" Jack's voice rings out from the kitchen doorway, dripping with disgust but clearly amused by the whole situation. "I didn’t need to know this much about my little brother."
You freeze, eyes wide, before you turn to Luke, who looks utterly unfazed, that smug, victorious grin plastered across his face. It’s as if he’s just won some kind of prize, and he's wearing it like a badge of honor.
Embarrassment creeps up your neck, but before you can even process the awkwardness, you find yourself laughing. The tension dissolves in the shared amusement of the moment. Luke just shrugs casually, looking way too pleased with himself.
"Relax, Jack. It’s called maturity," you reply with a wink, and Luke chuckles, pressing another kiss to your cheek.
Jack groans dramatically, rolling his eyes. "You two are gross. And seriously, for the future, we need some rules. These walls are way too thin. I do not need to hear you two in action. Thank God I wasn’t home yesterday."
You let out a horrified gasp, hiding your face in Luke’s neck. "Jesus, Jack," you mumble, half laughing, half mortified.
Luke just keeps laughing, clearly entertained by the situation. "You heard nothing. Just a couple of adults figuring things out," he teases.
Jack mutters something under his breath before calling out with a playful, exaggerated gag. "God, I need to vomit. You two are so disgusting."
"Guess this means you're sticking around, huh?" Luke whispers against your mouth, his voice low and warm, sending another wave of heat through you.
You nod, content, leaning into him with a soft smile. "Guess so," you murmur, brushing your lips against his in return.
Jack, clearly fed up with the display, huffs dramatically and walks away with an exaggerated sigh. "You two are the worst."
As he exits, you look up at Luke, feeling that warmth in your chest—the comfort, the excitement, all mixed together. You can get used to mornings like this, even if it means dealing with Jack’s teasing. Or, you think with a smirk, maybe you’ll just strangle him in his sleep. Problem solved.
Luke catches the glint in your eye and chuckles, clearly knowing exactly what you’re thinking.
“Careful,” he says with a playful smirk, “I’d hate to lose my new favourite person just because you can’t handle my brother.”
You laugh, pulling him in for one last kiss.

Some idea that I got while reading this
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If Danny said that he was a manifestation of a concept and emotion, and then He said He killed Danyal, but Damian knows that it was himself, as the son of the greatest detective in the world (also the most paranoid man in existence, quality that he genetically seems to pass to his descendants), maybe he would try to think about the meaning of 'The Concept and Emotion' of the being, and why the being decide to take the form of his dead brother (Hekilledhim)
Maybe Damian could end up thinking that He somehow have part in creating this being in specific?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Constantine can sense that the concept of the being is 'Balance' but doesn't know of what balance especifically (Life and Death of course, the in-between)
But for Damian? That can make sense, what the being must represent (somehow in his distressed mind) is the balance between 'Good and Evil' (I don't know what I'm writing), because that is what He always think of Danyal, a contradiction, after all, the two of them were created not with innocent purpose, educated on the ways of assasination, made to be the darkness in this world and ruling it in the shadows. After living with his father and family, he could understand that the bloodline He cherished so much in his younger years was the representation of 'Evil'
But Danyal was not that, he was too weak, no, Danyal wasn’t weak -even if the fact make him full of envy and hurt his pride-, Danyal was as strong as he was determined to follow his own ways even if the rest of their world not like it (alwaysstrongerthanhim)
Danyal was weak, not because he doesn't know how to fight, Danyal was the best fighter of the two of them -just not with the sword, as he doesn't seemed trully interested in that sacred art-, Danyal was weak because of his soft heart, he had what Richard will call a 'Heart of Gold', one able to resist being forced to kill, one able to see the good, as if Danyal could see what sins have you comited in life just to know if you can be forgive, the type that would give you closure, the type that wouldn't doubt in give a helping hand; Danyal was weak because he was Good, the only good -the only peak of light- in a place like Nanda Parbat, a quality that was not cherished in the Al' Ghul's, a sign of weakness
Danyal would not kill, not when he can sense that the one supposed to be his victim can be redeemed, not when the one he is supposed to kill is a kid of his age that doesn't understand what he's forced to do, not when the one he is supposed to kill haven't commited any sin
--That person ran away Danyal, he must be punish. He just wanted freedom--
Danyal was Good in a place full of Evil, he knows how to be evil and how to kill, but he wouldn't do it, because that wasn’t him (Just like father, but almost like Todd)
Danyal was balance, and that made him weak.
But that being was also made of an 'emotion', What emotion could it be? It would be Danyal's emotions or his own?
[Both? Both. I want both]
Danyal was happiness, integrity, hopes for the future, forgiveness, mercy, determination, naivety, kindness (Fear). Danyal was closure, He was solace for the lost ones
But Damian? Damian wasn’t that, Damian was anger, envy, hate, greed, narcissism, power, pride (Guilt). Damian was the one that will break your closure, He was the one that will deny you your solace
And in Danyal's last moments?
Their emotions were running wild, but he can remember what he felt, he can remember the emotions flashing trough his brother's eyes
Fear, anger, sadness, disappointment, discouragement, frustation, disillusioment, hate.
(GuiltguiltguILTGUILTGUILT)
Contradictions, Danyal was a contradiction (and He was a contradiction too)
He hated and envied Danyal his whole life -just to now call him his beloved brother?-, he always hated how meek and forgiving Danyal was -but He too will seek his presence to give him solace-, he was disgusted of how his brother seemed so weak even more weak when Danyal was with him -how naive and idiot Danyal was-, how Danyal would seek for Damian, to be with him and give his unneeded company -but sometimes in the deepest of his soul, he waited for that moments that somehow give him closure and affection-
(Hypocrite)
And Danyal loved him as much as he feared him the day he killed him (the look on his brother's beautiful blue eyes losing all his hopes and light)
......
The cruelty of this being, because the being look like him with the beautiful eyes of his brother (after all his brother died too young for the being to mimic a body clearly older, so it must be his own appereance)
Acting all high and mighty -like Damian would have done-, saying how he killed his brother with such pride..
But it was him the one who killed his own brother
He was the one who killed Danyal, He killed his own brother, He killed his brother, He killed him
And the being (himself) is looking straight a him with his brother eyes (Danyal), giving him the same expression he gave to his brother the day he took away the light of his eyes
The being was balance
The being was forgiveness, mercy, hope (Fear)
The being was anger, power, pride (Guilt)
And the being looked at him while holding such resentment in the deepest of his brother's eyes
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That was the idea that got me after reading this, sorry if isn't really understandable, I'm not that good at English and don't really trust Google translator for this ngl
I use red and green when writing Damian in representation of who He was and who He is now, and blue for Danny/Danyal for his eyes, my way of saying that that's what Damian remember more of him, what he liked/envied more of him
Damian will always think of Danyal in blue while Danny/Danyal will always think of himself in red
Demon Twins and Death
Inspired by this post by @spiders-in-the-primrose
Damian had spent years loathing Danyal. The weaker, pathetic son. The son who did not have what it took to carry the name Al Ghul. The twin who had died and was swallowed by the Lazarus pits, never to be seen again.
The twin Damian killed.
His brother had welcomed death with tears and sobs. His last words were stained by the blood he choke out, "It had to be you, akhi." He whispered as the blood spilled from his mouth and a sword was pressed further into his stomach.
When he was sent to his father, he remained with his belief in being the better son. That Danyal was not worthy of being the son of the demon and the son of the bat. He could have been one but in the end, only Damian was worthy for both.
And yet as the years passed, Damian grew and changed. And then he finally understood.
In his family of heroes, his family who strived to make the world better—Danyal would have been a better fit. Instead, Damian had been the one to become his father's son with his own twin's blood on his hands. His father must never know.
The idea of Danyal sparks rage, resentment, and utterly self-loathing. His kind and sweet brother who would have been the perfect son for his father. The son who was clearly the better person. Not in skill, power—but morals. Because like their father, Danyal would never kill.
What would have happened if Danyal was here with him? If he were still alive?
Damain can imagine his brother in the colors that Robin wore, another costume, another name. Because Damian will not give up that name after he managed to take it from Drake. But Danyal would have work the colors, would have been bubbly like Grayson. He would have taken care of the children on the streets like Todd. He would have helped their father in cases like Drake.
He would have been the brother they would have wanted.
And Damian tries not to drown in what his brother could have been. He can't help but admire this figment of his imagination. This hero in his kind that wore what could have been Danyal's face. This light within the darkness of Gotham who had a voice identical to Damian's.
And Damian does drown. Because he wants what his brother could have been.
Danyal Al Ghul died by the hands of his brother.
In the back of his mind, he thinks that he just wants his other half back.
Danny Fenton was born as the girl who would be his sister dragged him from a lake and nursed him to health.
The Fentons were strange people with strange ideals. Jack and Maddie were obsessed, they were not suited to care for children as they grabbed their weapons and hunted down any ghost their could find. When they were absent, Danny was left with Jasmine.
The memory of Damian is strong and cruel and it burned itself into his mind. The memory of that katana sinking into his gut, just as blood bubbles up his throat. He remembers an older brother who had to be the one to kill him.
He remembers and then he looks to Jasmine. She is warmth incarnate, with fiery hair and bright eyes that reminded him of stars on painting. His parents lack the warmth he craves but Jazz gives him so much that he can't help but melt everytime he's in her arms.
Neither of them can forget how fearful he was towards her when she first found him. He had only been six years old, feeling the effects of the Lazarus pit on his skin before he was spat out somewhere far, far away. He remembered being in Nanda Parbat then he was spat out somewhere in Illinois.
Jasmine had found him. Jazz had found him.
And Danny has decided long ago that Jazz was much better than Damian.
Even from the distance between them, Danyal continues to fear Damian. The part of him that he wished died when his own twin stabbed him to death continued to live on.
Then he died.
Again.
And he can't help but hope that Danyal is finally dead. That the failure was finally dead. His body only needed two. He only needed Danny and Phantom. Yes... Danyal was dead.
Danny would kill that part of him himself if he could.
He donned the mantle of hero, even when the people called him a menace at times. Danny was finally a hero, he was finally someone who could do good in the world. It was a blessing for him.
In all honesty, being a hero had been fun, even as he suffered. His rogues that fought him felt like friends that he had missed in his life. Parts of him yearned for when Skulker came out for a fight. He laughed whenever Ember moved to blast her music through the town and he was forced to fight her. He was fond of both Kitty and Johnny, even when they fought and caused havoc. Trouble felt like home for once.
The half of him that was dead yearned for a fight, yearned for an obsession. Protection—he was told—was his own obsession.
To protect, to fight, to make sure that whatever fell into his obsession was safe and sound. He thinks of Amity Park—his haunt, his domain—and assumed it was what he wanted to protect. He had fought Pariah Dark, became King through conquest and continued to protect.
But a part of him knew that something was wrong. He knew that it wasn't Amity Park that he would protect at all cost. No.
It was always Jazz. Always his big sister who cradled him, who figured out he was Phantom, who could tell whether he was himself or not. The greatest part of his obsession fell onto the older sibling who loves him unconditionally, always reminding him that there was another half of him in the world that killed him. But Jazz was none of that.
Danny loved his family. He loved Elle who grew to be his little sister. He loved his parents even when they were difficult. He loved his friends—Sam, Tucker, Valerie. He loved them so dearly and yet they could never match up to Jazz.
Danny doesn't know what he'd do without her.
(Lies. He knew what would happen if Jazz was taken from her. He knew what kind of monster he'd become—one that the observants demanded to be killed. He knew damn well that Jazz Fenton was the only thing that kept him human.)
(Dan existed for a reason.)
(Danny would burn the world for his sister.)
(And he'd kill himself for fear of his brother.)
Fate is a cruel mistress that knew what she was doing. Twins were tied by blood, mind, and soul. An invisible thread that made sure they were connected one way or another. He shouldn't be surprised that they were going to be reunited at some point.
Danny Fenton and Damian Wayne meet.
It's been years. They've changed. They've become new people. Damian is Robin, the son of the bat (not heir to the demons head). Danny is Phantom, High King of the Infinite Realms (not the failure devoured by the Lazarus).
But that doesn't stop Danyal Al Ghul from drowning in fear at the mere visage of Damian Al Ghul.
Danny plays as ambassador, not king. He won't risk himself by telling people who he truly is. He can't. No.
When he summoned and claims that he is an ambassador sent as a substitute, the Justice League accepts what they are given and pleaded for aid.
But Robin is there with Batman. Robin and Phantom meet.
Robin sees Danyal and Phantom sees his murderer.
The moment his body was no longer frozen, Damian sucked in a deep breath as he stared at the face of his own beloved twin. His brother that died by his hands and was claimed by the pits. Had the Lazarus turned him into a creature of the realms?
"Danyal..." Robin sounded hopeful, desperate. He reached forward and almost crossed the circle if not for his father and Nightwing pulling him back with confusion and concern. They look towards the Ghostly being with a face that resembled their father and youngest a little too much.
Danny? Had he been human, his heart would have stopped after ricocheting. He stopped breathing, rendering his lungs useless. This was Damian. A hero of his own right even when he was a monster in Danny's eyes.
Danyal Al Ghul feared Damian.
Phantom was a manifestation of something of Danyal's death.
"You mistake me for someone, Heir to the Demon's head." His voice tore through air, distorted by his own will. Danny was king, he had to remind himself that.
"I am a manifestation. I am born from a concept and emotion. You would not have met me." The lies were not lies. Truths bended to his will as he spoke and pressed against the barrier made by the summoning circle. "But you recognize this body that I have taken form in."
"Then your appearance belonged to a living person." Batman growled.
Danny realizes that this was his father. Perhaps Ra's was right at some point—blood calls to blood.
"What have you done to Danyal?! Where is my twin brother, demon!" Robin's words leak venom as he slams a hand against the barrier.
Danyal tremblesPhantom was amused.
"Bats, tell your brat to back off! That's the ghost king's fuckin' ambassador." The Hellblazer hissed, watching as Batman pulled his son away.
But Damian—Robin—stands still.
Phantom grinned, flashing his teeth as he leaned closed to the barrier. Even when his appearance was born of inverted colors with Lazarus eyes rather than the sky, Damian could recognize his twin's face anywhere.
Both of them knew what happened to Danyal. Killed by his own brother.
But only Phantom knew what happened after.
"Oh little bird... I killed him."
control …
— [ nsfw ] kissing, dry humping, first kiss + they’re both virgins
— wc :: 1.2k
caleb likes to think he’s in control of everything that happens around him. he’s always been pretty good at controlling his emotions and schooling his expressions and he tries not to overreact.
that’s the problem with her, she throws him off balance in the best and worst ways and it leaves him feeling so unsettled.
the thing about college, it’s supposed to be the best years of your life and he doesn’t know if he agrees or disagrees with that. if he really thinks about it, it’s bullshit but he knows why he feels that way.
he keeps himself composed most days, he has no reason to act out of character but this is something new to him.
caleb wasn’t naive enough to think this would never happen, he just always thought he’d be able to handle it well but he cannot. his hands feel clammy and his hot around his neck. is this even normal? he doesn’t fucking know.
he wants to lie and say he’s completely normal about her having other guy friends but he’s definitely not. his skin crawls whenever they touch her shoulder, grab at her wrists even if it’s completely platonic and innocent.
he especially hates when they lean in to close to talk to her when they’re at a party and the music is too loud. those are the nights caleb avoids alcohol like it personally offended him.
he cannot trust himself to be sober in these situations, he doesn’t want to imagine what he’d do with his evol even if the thought sends a thrill through him. he knows he has a problem, he’s just not going to deal with it.
not in a healthy way at least.
“caleb?”
he snaps out his thoughts, smiling down at where she’s laying on the floor in his dorm room. she’s supposed to be studying but she’s distracted and he shouldn’t enable her but he always does. she’s just too pretty, she has a face you cannot say no to and you’d be insane to disagree.
he’d like someone to disagree, that would be a fun day for him and a very unfortunate one for them.
“i’m listening” he lies. if he had been, he would’ve heard what she asked him and understand why she’s being all shy right now.
“wait.. what?” he sits up, looking at her properly. he definitely has a problem if he’s thinking about her so much and she’s right next to him.
“.. it’s stupid” she frowns
“it’s not” he reassures. he means it sincerely because he is willing to do whatever she wants. he hopes she doesn’t know that.
“i just .. i haven’t had my first kiss yet and i know some people think it’s a big deal and maybe it is but how will i know?” she looks up at him and she looks so upset by this so he tries not to panic.
was she seeing someone? did she like someone and that’s why she was thinking about kissing?
caleb could tell her it’s too early to worry about that and maybe she could just focus on college but that would be selfish of him. so selfish.
“i could teach you” he says and it’s out before his brain can even process any of that shit but it’s too late now because her eyes widen and she sits up so fast.
“what?” she asks because even he can’t believe what he just said.
“i just mean if you’re that curious” he smiles, playing it cool.
“you’d do that for me?” she stands now, moving to sit on his bed right in front of him and he will kill his roommate if the fucker comes back now.
“you know i would” he shrugs like it’s nothing even though his heart his beating so fast.
and that’s the thing about control, he always believed he was in control of everything in his life but the moment their lips touch, he feels his entire world shift and he doesn’t know if he’s breathing but she trusts him.
he has his hands on the side of her face before he can stop himself and she gasps softly into the kiss that he can’t help but lightly bite her bottom lip. she likes that, or so it seems because she doesn’t push him away.
her lips taste like the peach flavoured lipgloss she likes to wear and her skin is soft beneath his fingertips.
“is this okay?” he asks, running his thumb across her lower lip. she’s so beautiful, it hurts.
“yes…” she nods, “… can we do more?”
“more?” he tries not to show how excited that makes him.
“with tongue” she whispers
he doesn’t need to be told twice and her moan makes it hard to focus on anything other than her lips against his and how hard he suddenly is.
he slips his tongue into her mouth and she learns pretty quickly, he hasn’t even kissed anyone either but he’s seen enough videos and he’s always been a pretty fast learner himself and he would be damned if she had this experience with anyone that wasn’t him.
she moves closer, her arms around his neck and he can’t pull her onto his lap. if he’s being honest, he’s been hard since she said yes to the kiss but he would never want to overwhelm her. her first kiss is special because it’s them, he wouldn’t rush this.
that is something he can control.
“does that feel good?” he asks because her comfort is the most important thing to him.
“yes” she sounds less shy now, more like herself and she’s smiling so sweetly he can’t help but lean back in and this time she takes the lead and he likes how she lightly pulls at his hair. he didn’t know he’d be into that but he’s learning a lot about himself since being in college.
she climbs onto his lap on her own and if she feels how hard he is, she doesn’t comment on it which he appreciates. she’s always been considerate and just so perfect he thinks he might combust.
“put your hands .. on my waist” she tells him and he nods, as if he’s in some sort of trance now.
he’s not embarrassed about the grinding or the fact that he cums in his pants 10 minutes later. he’s still a fucking virgin and she doesn’t seem to care because she moans loud enough for him that he knows everyone down the hall heard her and only a small part of him hates that, he knows when he’s alone he’s going to be pissed that they heard how pretty she sounds but right now he wants to keep kissing her.
i am a child.
i am forced into a dress. makeup is smeared onto my face. i kick and cry and beg, but they will not stop.
i am forced to pose in front of the camera with my thighs together and hope that the makeup hides my tearstains. i must be the perfect picture of femininity; innocent, untouched.
i already have a thousand hand prints on me.
'all men are evil rapists', i am told.
i think about my friends, who are men. the men who called me every day while i was in a psychiatric hospital. the men who walked me home when i was afraid. the men who protected and cared for me, without ever expecting my body in return.
it can't be the body that makes someone evil. it can't be the presence of a penis that makes someone evil. but it can't be the identity of 'man' that makes you evil, either.
i ponder the difference between the men who raped me and the men who protected me. i decide that it depends on who the person is inside, and not on their identity.
'sit down and shut up,' they spit at me. 'the men are talking. learn your place. don't speak over us.'
'you throw like a girl.'
'you run like a girl.'
'girls can't do this. they're not smart enough.'
'girls aren't strong enough to do this.'
over and over, such sentiments are tossed at me. i bite down my anger, because women aren't supposed to yell or get angry. if i get angry, that makes me a hysterical bitch.
'women are meant to be mothers,' i am told. they beat it into me that my worth lies not in my personhood, but in the womb between my hips. it makes me feel sick and violated, just like every sexual assault has.
i am groped. i am raped. i am assaulted.
it's my fault, i'm told. i'm a temptress. my body is a vile weapon, a weapon created to tempt men into sin, a weapon that makes me a subhuman toy.
i am treated like a toy. as i am molested during my childhood, i learn that i am a toy. the anatomy between my hips has marked me as public property. i am less than human.
they keep forcing me into dresses. they keep forcing me into makeup. no amount of protesting makes it end. i grow to loathe femininity and the violation that always seems to come with it.
i come out as a trans man at fifteen.
'can't you just be nonbinary?'
'can't you just be a tomboy?'
'i don't want you to regret this.'
'i don't want you to ruin your perfect body.'
'men are disgusting. why do you want to be one of them?'
'are you sure you don't just want to be a man because you were sexually assaulted?'
i continue to be a man. my parents intentionally delay my ability to go on testosterone. by the time i am able to go on testosterone, i have already finished puberty. my body is irreversibly feminine.
people throw food at me. they call me a faggot, a tranny, a dyke. they kick me and shove me to the ground. they cyberstalk me. they post pictures of me online so that they can mock me.
a girl says to me, 'you need to learn your place,' as she calls me a faggot over the internet. she kicks me when she sees me the next day.
my boyfriend when i am fifteen is a cis man who says he is pansexual. he dismisses me when i talk about being trans, because he uses he/they pronouns and 'understands it'.
he sexually assaults me repeatedly. i am in constant distress. my distress is used as proof that i am a snowflake hysterical tranny. i am a hysterical woman who only THINKS she's a man, and i need to be put in my place. trans 'men' are all hysterical and overreactive, and my behaviour is used as proof.
my boyfriend exclusively refers to me with they/them pronouns. i tell him to use he/him. he waves his hand, dismissing my words, and says, 'they're basically the same thing'.
he tells me that he wants children. i try to ignore the sick feeling in my gut.
he only uses he/him pronouns for me after we have broken up, when he is trying to paint me as abusive. i lose my entire friend group because of it.
people keep talking down to me. when i go on testosterone, cis men try to explain that it's toxic for me, using cis man bodybuilders as an example. i try to explain how that isn't the case. they insist that 'female bodies aren't built to handle testosterone'. i try to explain to them how hormones work, and they laugh and roll their eyes.
silly girl. stupid girl. she doesn't know what she's talking about.
people continue to make fun of trans men online. our music, our art, our interests, our fashion sense, our names. i cannot help but feel dejected. all i want is to be a man, and to fit in among everyone else, but even in doing so, i stand out as a target for mockery. misogyny is inescapable, even for men.
i am seventeen years old. my worst fear comes true. i am raped and forcibly impregnated, with the intention of forcing me to detransition.
that sense of violation is impossible to truly describe.
my reproductive system was designed to become pregnant. my body will do its best to become pregnant, no matter what i want. pregnancy is an inescapable function of my body, and it makes me feel trapped and sick.
the man who raped me has turned my own body into a weapon against me. even in my body, my own flesh and sinew, i am not safe.
i miscarry. i am in agony. my womb cramps and i try not to pass out.
i enter feminist spaces. i try to talk about my experiences with misogyny.
'sit down and shut up,' they spit at me. 'the women are talking. learn your place. don't speak over us.'
all trans men have male privilege, you see, without exception. by the mere act of wanting to become a man, i have become a traitor, and i am thrown to the cis men.
the cis men, who see me as a woman that they're finally allowed to abuse. finally, they can hurt and rape and impregnate a woman, because she's one of those snowflake trannies and she needs to be put in her place.
i bite down my anger, because trans men aren't supposed to yell or get angry. if i get angry, it's proof that i'm not a man, that i'm a hysterical bitch, and that i'm a dangerous snowflake tranny seeking to mutilate children.
the sentiment is bitterly familiar.
#anti transmasculinity#transandrophobia#transmisandry#< i have seen a lot of words going around to describe transmasc specific oppression#and i am not sure which one i am supposed to use#sorry
i had been thinking about this all day at work.
fwb!vi x f!reader - 1
summary: looks say far more than words can.
when you and vi first started this arrangement, the way she looked at you was different.
it was a look of hunger; a look that a mountain lion would possess as it laid its eyes on an innocent lamb. to say she wanted to eat you was too kind—she wanted to devour you, tear into your flesh with sharp, and wet her gullet with your blood.
it was possession that drove her to throw you on the bed before mounting you. the desperate urge to keep as she swallowed you whole, bones and all, until there was nothing left of you.
that was months ago, when the arrangement was still fresh. when you firmly stated that this was nothing but downright filthy sex, and vi agreed.
but everything has changed.
vi doesn't look at you the same.
except she does, but it's worse somehow.
while she still pins you down with that gaze of raw possession, it's...softened.
no longer is it harsh and jagged, slicing through your flesh with serrated edges. now, it cradles you, like gentle hands holding the delicate body of a baby bird. cautious, easy...
fond.
it terrifies you.
vi's nestled in the cradle of your thighs, hiding her face in the plush of your stomach. her arms are locked around your waist, tight and assured, and she's humming a tune. it's muffled, but it's familiar; a song that she lets loose when she's happy.
when she's happy with you.
there's a heavy rock in your stomach, pulling you down towards the ground. it may drag you through the earth, suffocating you in the terrifying heat of the earth's mantle. maybe the heat will kill you first, but you'll be killed nonetheless.
this is what your fear feels like. this is what you were afraid of.
vi's shifting on your lap momentarily draws you away from your inevitable breakdown. she's now lying on her back, baring her face back to the world—back to you.
the smile on her face is tender; it's what some might even call loving. the rock in your stomach gains five pounds, nausea pooling at the back of your throat.
no.
"hey, pretty girl," vi murmurs, low and slow, as if those words are her secrets. "what's going on in that head of yours?"
the words sit at the tip of your tongue, scrambling for freedom. they seep into your taste buds, leaving behind the most sour of tastes.
we need to stop this, is what yells to be said. we said no feelings. this was supposed to be about sex and nothing else. so why does it feel like you're in love with me?
why does it feel like i'm in love with you, too?
"nothing," you say instead, mimicking the low and slow, like you're also telling secrets. "just wondering about what i should do tonight."
you stress the i a little too harshly, but vi doesn't notice. or maybe she does and refuses to care. maybe she's acting on her own will, doing what feels right by her standards.
which is unfair; she isn't allowed to do this to you.
"well, if you don't anything in mind," vi says easily. "we could go catch a movie or something? maybe go and grab something to eat from jericho's?" the way she says we is too simple, as if it's always been we and not you and her.
you stare down at her for a moment, really take her in. the slope of her nose, the scar on her upper lip. the soft pinks of her cheeks, and her eyes. wide and power blue and far too expressive of their own good because she's looking at you with that look again.
that look that means way too much.
when you open your mouth, all that falls out is a lie.
"actually, i have to wake up early in the morning." you lie through your teeth because you need to get away from this—from her.
the look in vi's eyes changes, slips into something foreign; something unknown. you've never seen this look before, but you can't find it in yourself to worry about it.
when vi leaves, she presses a lingering kiss upon your lips. her hands grasp at you a bit too tightly, as if feeling you for the last time. then she's gone without a word, and a part of you wonders what that could have meant.
but as the weeks go by and vi goes unheard of, you suddenly realise on a deathly cold morning.
vi was saying goodbye.
"removing the constitution from the website" it's stuff like this that gives hints to goy, just enough to keep the smarter ones quiet and uninterested, that all of the insane "reactions" are indeed the true and sole purpose of "the government" otherwise known as polslop.
You're supposed to say "Uh, actually, they were just taking the constitution down for maintenance". You're supposed to say that. They need you to say that, you dumb slave. The purpose of people talking about how they did that is to make you comment. The purpose of them removing the constitution for a few hours or whatever, and then drawing attention to it in every post by every liberal-team bot on social media, is to make you comment. There was no maintenance, they need your comments. They need your belief. There are no teams, one single entity decides on which funny things to do to keep you commenting, and this is just one of them.
Every "event" like this, is just, quite literally, just a dumb show. Browbeating the weak and innocent into insane beliefs, culminating in self-castration (trans), and demoralizing the intelligent and capable into submission. Making the more perceptive goy say: "Maybe we deserve this dumb show that hurts people and conquers peoples minds, after all look how effective it is on my foolish brothers and sisters."
Polslop's existence renders the masses incapable of unity. There's no chance people who actually believe the dumb polslop, and all the stupid cartoon characters like trump and michelle and biden and shit, and people who don't believe in any of it, could ever really get along outside of immediate necessity. And of course they're so easily mislead already.
The "trump will save us" people are a damned people. Anyone who believes that government is real is going to be left behind by God. It's idolatry. It's a gay drag show with trump making gay drag queen insults for Adult Men to lap up. It just fucking sucks, way worse now that all the pageantry disappeared with Obama. It's just so gay and hopeless and demoralizing. How could you still believe government is real? How can you believe that that wailing shemale bag makes any important decisions at all. What a joke!
As far as I'm concerned if you believe that any single actor or group of actors in any government in the world makes any decision at all, you're defeated. You're ruled by evil. Every politician on earth is a golem with a round golem-male body or stick-thin emaciated golem-female body. They just exist to zombie-walk around on stages with their flabby soulless conscienceless corpses, and beautiful expensive masonic suits, and shoulder-pads, and colorful occult-meaning ties. Sometimes they'll read off a script, written by an AI and approved by a Skeksis boy, to keep you talking and confused and angry.
That is their sole purpose. They take your energy and torment you when you're in the shower or in bed, with their dumb meaningless plotlines that never go anywhere. Distracting and misleading the people. No "news story" they show you publicly isn't planned years and sometimes decades in advance. Or otherwise is just some spur-of-the-moment oneoff joke by some rabbi. That's all there is to it.
If it's on "the news" you can believe without a doubt that it's a planned hoax. There are no exceptions. If it actually happens, it doesn't go on the news. Real events that genuinely happen aren't spread to the public, because real events have too many unknowns. A real event could wake people up, so real events are smothered. Likewise real "leaders" of any kind are hunted down, gangstalked, electronically tortured, and driven to low-energy lifestyles, effectively "removing them from play".
I suppose I can't blame people who suffer the false belief that politics and democracy are real. After all the Skeksis are constantly poisoning the water supply. But it's still an evil thing, and it dominates so many minds, and there's really nothing more to it than just a dumb show.
As an observer from outside of America I'm genuinely quite astounded at how quickly things seem to be ramping up. I don't know why but I believed they would have a cold period where they'd just act like everything is normal before going full with their ideas.
But nope. Straight in to removing the constitution from the website; talking about raiding the homes of immigrant families; removal of the reproductive rights page; saying there are only 2 genders and now it seems they have the intention to make it so women can only get birth control with the permission of their husbands, fathers or a priest.
Thereby completely destroying years of good work for, not only reproductive rights, but women's health care as a whole.
This is only day 2 of the Presidency.
We are in for a long, painful, ride.
ଓ LAP OF (DIS)COMFORT
pairing: logan howlett x reader
summary: during movie night, the only available seat is on logan's lap.
word count: 727
ℒogan masterlist !
mdni 𖤐 18+
Deadpool had a habit of... Well, once a thought settled in his mind, he wouldn't fucking drop it. And ever since Logan became a part of your lives, Deadpool has been obsessed with hosting a movie night every week.
Now each week, without exception, he would gather everyone in the living room to watch a movie and keep Logan up to date. Though the grumpy man would never openly admit it, there was a flicker of enjoyment in him.
Today, however, this crazy slacker had put you in charge of making the popcorn. Something you did after little complaint, but as you returned to the living room, balancing several buckets of freshly popped popcorn, your ungrateful friends had claimed every available seat, leaving you without a seat and standing awkwardly in the middle of the room.
You glance around, hands on your hips. “Okay, where the hell am I supposed to sit?”
“Lap dance roulette,” Wade announces, sprawled across half the couch like some kind of human starfish. “Winner gets Logan.”
Your stomach twists, heat creeping up your neck before you can shove it down. You’re not looking at Logan. But you feel his eyes on you like he already knows where this is going. You fucking hated Wade.
"Not happening," Logan grunts, beer in hand, shoulders tense where he sits in the only available armchair.
You fold your arms. "Alright, then where am I sitting?"
“Floor’s right there,”
You glare. “Yeah? Maybe I should make you sit on the floor.”
His lips twitch—almost a smirk—but he takes a long sip of beer instead like he’s enjoying your irritation.
“Oh for f—just sit in his lap,” Vanessa replies, impatient but with a mischievous smile appearing on her lips, throwing popcorn at Wade when he starts waggling his eyebrows. “We don’t have all night.” Great, everyone was against you today.
"Come on, guys! If you all sit down properly, I can easily sit on the couch too," You said, mainly to Wade, who was taking up practically half the couch by himself. When no one answered and carried on talking and complaining, you let out a sigh.
You run your hand over your face, your jaw clenched, but you weigh your options. One: stand for two hours. Two: sit on the floor uncomfortable like an outcast. Or three—
Logan exhales sharply, like he’s already regretting this. "Just sit, sweetheart. Get it over with."
Sweetheart.
Your pulse stutters for a fraction of a second. Logan rarely calls you that—not in that tone, not in front of other people.
But if he’s not making a big deal out of it, then neither are you.
So, ignoring the way your palms suddenly feel a little too warm, you lower yourself onto his lap.
His thighs are solid. That’s your first thought. The second is that you probably should’ve just picked the floor, because now you’re fully aware of everything. The way his chest moves when he breathes. The slow curl of his fingers against his beer bottle. The warmth of his body against yours.
You shift slightly, trying to find a comfortable spot—
A muscle in Logan’s jaw jumps. His hand finds your hip. “Jesus, would you quit moving?”
Your breath catches. His voice is low, rough—gravel and tension rolled into one. And his fingers? Just the barest bit possessive where they tighten against your side.
Wade whistles. "Well, someone’s having a great time. Logan, buddy, is that a blush?"
Logan flips him off but doesn't move his hand.
Doesn’t let go; he actually lets his hand settle loosely on your waist as if to keep you steady. To keep you there.
Your throat feels dry. This was supposed to be nothing—just a seat. But now? The air’s buzzing. Your heart’s drumming. And you swear, swear, that Logan’s grip lingers just a second too long to be innocent.
You don’t say anything about it.
Neither does he.
But as the movie plays, his hand moves to your hip and stays firm. And when you shift—just once—his fingers twitch, like he wants to pull you closer but won’t.
Tension crackles between you like a live wire.
Yeah. You’re definitely not paying attention to the movie tonight.
assistant! reader going viral and capturing the attention of model! karina’s fans
pairing: model! karina x assistant! female reader
word count: 843
summary: when karina posts a mirror selfie, y/n unintentionally steals the spotlight, sparking a viral reaction. as fans focus on her assistant, karina struggles with unexpected feelings of possessiveness and jealousy.
from my series: the devil wears prada
it all started with a selfie.
jimin had been in one of her moods, insisting on taking the perfect photo for her instagram. “y/n, set up my phone,” she said, handing over the device. “i want a mirror selfie, and make sure you get my good side.”
y/n, who had long since mastered the art of dealing with jimin’s diva moments, sighed but obediently propped the phone up on a nearby shelf, angling it toward the full-length mirror in jimin’s dressing room. “your good side is literally every side, jimin. just smile already.”
jimin pouted but struck a pose, her perfectly styled hair catching the sunlight. as the timer counted down, y/n stepped into the frame to adjust the angle, her unimpressed expression clearly visible in the mirror behind jimin.
“let me see,” jimin said, grabbing the phone. she frowned at the photo. “ugh, you ruined it! delete it and take another one.”
y/n rolled her eyes but didn’t argue. she assumed that was the end of it—until the next morning, when she woke up to a flood of notifications on her phone.
“what the…?” y/n muttered, scrolling through her social media. her inbox was full of messages, and her follower count had skyrocketed overnight.
“good morning, sleeping beauty,” jimin said, sauntering into the kitchen with princess in her arms. “why do you look like you’ve seen a ghost?”
“did you… post that photo?” y/n asked, holding up her phone.
jimin blinked innocently. “which photo?”
“the one where i’m in the background!” y/n said, turning the screen to show her. the photo had gone viral, with thousands of comments and likes. most of them were about y/n.
who’s the assistant?? she’s so pretty!
karina’s assistant is stealing the show 😍
someone get this girl a modeling contract!
jimin’s smile faltered for a split second before she shrugged. “oh, that one. i didn’t think anyone would notice you.”
y/n raised an eyebrow. “really? because it looks like everyone noticed me.”
as the day went on, the comments kept pouring in. fans were obsessed with y/n, dubbing her “karina’s pretty assistant” and even creating fan accounts dedicated to her.
jimin, meanwhile, was not handling it well.
“why are they so obsessed with you?” she grumbled, scrolling through the comments during a break in her photoshoot. “you’re not even doing anything in the photo.”
y/n smirked. “maybe they just have good taste.”
jimin glared at her. “this is my instagram. they’re supposed to be talking about me.”
“well, maybe next time you should make sure i’m not in the photo,” y/n said, clearly enjoying jimin’s frustration.
by the time they got home, jimin was in full denial mode. “it’s not that i care,” she said, flopping onto the couch. “i just don’t understand why they’re so interested in you.”
“maybe they think i’m cute,” y/n said, shrugging.
jimin’s eyes narrowed. “you’re not that cute.”
y/n laughed. “says the person who’s been sulking all day because i’m getting more attention than you.”
“i’m not sulking!” jimin protested, crossing her arms. “i just don’t like sharing the spotlight.”
“uh-huh,” y/n said, clearly not convinced.
later that night, jimin found herself scrolling through the comments again. she told herself it was just curiosity, but deep down, she knew it was more than that.
the truth was, jimin didn’t like the idea of y/n being in the spotlight—not because she was jealous of the attention, but because she didn’t want to share her with the world. y/n was hers. her assistant, her confidant, her… well, she wasn’t sure what else, but she knew she didn’t want anyone else to have her.
“stupid comments,” she muttered, tossing her phone aside.
“still obsessing over that photo?” y/n asked, walking into the room with a cup of tea.
“no,” jimin said quickly. “i just… don’t like people assuming things about you.”
y/n raised an eyebrow. “like what?”
“like… that you’re available,” jimin said, her cheeks turning pink. “or that they can just… have you.”
y/n blinked, surprised by the intensity in jimin’s voice. “jimin, are you… jealous?”
“no!” jimin said, too quickly. “i just… you’re my assistant. that’s all.”
y/n smiled, setting down her tea. “you know, for someone who’s not jealous, you’re acting pretty possessive.”
jimin opened her mouth to argue but stopped when y/n sat down next to her. “look,” y/n said softly. “you don’t have to worry. i’m not going anywhere.”
jimin looked at her, her expression softening. “promise?”
“promise,” y/n said, smiling.
the next day, jimin posted another photo—this time, a selfie with y/n clearly in the frame, smiling this time. the caption read: “my assistant. hands off.”
the comments exploded all over again, but this time, jimin didn’t mind. after all, she’d made her point.
y/n rolled her eyes when she saw the post but couldn’t help smiling. “you’re such a drama queen, jimin.”
“maybe,” jimin said, smirking. “but you’re still mine.”
I told y'all I got more Nightwing ones lined up. This one's just fluff but I NEED HIM.
Pairing: Dick Grayson x Female Reader
Plot: What was supposed to be a simple grocery run turns into a full-blown snack heist, with Dick pulling every trick in the book.
Words: 2,3k
CW: established relationship, fluff, humor, domestic shenanigans, grocery store chaos, snack heist, playful banter, mild tickling, slice of life, Dick being a menace, reader suffering (affectionately)
You should've known bringing Dick to the grocery store was a mistake. You should've known.
But when he offered to drive, flashing you that easy, boyish grin, promising he'd be good, you figured, what's the worst that could happen? A quick, responsible trip—grab the essentials, stick to the list, avoid distractions. Simple.
Except, somewhere deep in your soul, you knew. You knew better than to trust him in a place with this many snack aisles.
Your gut warned you. Your instincts screamed. You had years of experience dealing with this exact brand of nonsense, and still—you let him waltz through those automatic doors with zero supervision, like you weren't escorting a six-foot-tall toddler into a candy wonderland.
Really, this one's on you.
And yet, here you are, standing by the cart, listening to the unmistakable crinkle of plastic, feeling your eye twitch as you turn around—
Only to find Dick caught red-handed, a giant bag of sour gummy worms frozen mid-air, halfway to the cart, like he thought he could sneak them in undetected.
There's a fraction of a second where he looks genuinely offended at getting caught, like the audacity of your observational skills is the real crime here. You can see his soul leave his body as he freezes mid-action, standing so still it's almost admirable. Like a goddamn deer in headlights.
If you weren't so busy glaring at him, you'd be impressed.
"... Dick."
He doesn't move. Doesn't blink.
Just stands there, completely still, as if that might somehow undo the fact that he was just caught trying to be sneaky. His hand is still half-stretched, and you can see his fingers twitch slightly, like he's debating whether to keep the bag or drop it and pretend it never happened.
His lips part slightly, and you can practically see the gears turning in his head, desperately trying to figure out an escape plan. His eyes flick left, then right, like he's searching for an out, but when his gaze locks with yours, his expression falls back into the innocent act, lips curling into a soft, unconvincing smile.
And then—ever so slowly—he tries to place the bag in the cart anyway.
Oh, the audacity. He does it so carefully, so deliberately, like maybe—just maybe—you won't notice if he moves slow enough. Like he's testing some bullshit theory about your depth perception, just casually lowering the bag with all the grace of a malfunctioning vending machine.
And for a second—just a split second—you almost let him. Because honestly? The sheer commitment is impressive, but you snatch it before it even touches the groceries.
He gasps.
Like you just mortally wounded him. Like you personally reached into his chest and stole his soul. He clutches at his heart with both hands, his face the very picture of betrayal. "Baby!"
You narrow your eyes. "What is this?"
He blinks at you, the picture of innocence. "A necessary expense?"
You let out a slow, measured breath, trying to keep your patience intact. "We don't need this," you say, shaking the bag pointedly.
His face immediately shifts into the most exaggerated pout, eyes big and impossibly blue, practically dripping with fake heartbreak. "We do need them."
"Dick."
"Baby."
You don't break eye contact. Neither does he. But he's relentless—turning up the puppy-dog eyes, tilting his head just so, lips parting in that soft, pleading way that always, always makes you weak.
But not this time. You won't cave.
You exhale sharply, turning back to the shelves. "We're here for groceries. Real food. Not—"
Thump. Your head snaps around, and time slows. You swear you hear the sound of a judge slamming a gavel somewhere in the distance.
Dick—this absolute menace—has just placed a second bag of gummy worms in the cart like it's a normal transaction. Like it's a given that you'll just let it slide.
And the worst part? He looks proud of himself.
Your jaw drops. "Dick."
He grins, hands outstretched like he's just completed an Olympic feat. "Well, baby, you were distracted."
You snatch the second bag just as fast as the first. "No."
His hands go to his hips, his face twisting in mock offense. "You're so mean to me."
You roll your eyes. "We're shopping for food, not junk."
"Then why are we here?"
You fix him with a flat look, holding up the shopping list like it's evidence in court. "For the things on this very specific list."
He leans in, peering at it like it's some kind of ancient text, lips pressing together in deep, exaggerated concentration. "Hmmm. I don't see eggs."
You flip the list around, pointing directly at eggs.
"Oh," he hums. "I don't see—"
"Dick."
"Okay, fine," he grins, backing up toward the cart, hands raised in surrender. "I'll push."
You narrow your eyes at him, suspicious.
That is not a selfless offer. That is strategy.
You know this game. You've played this game. This is not about "helping". This is about controlling the terrain. He's taken cart duty as a strategic advantage—gaining full possession of the moving target so he can execute his bullshit snack heist while you're distracted.
You sigh, rubbing your temples. You're dealing with a professional. But you let him, still eyeing him carefully as you push into the next aisle.
And for a little while, he behaves. He actually follows along, doesn't stray too far, occasionally even reaching for things that are actually on the list.
It almost makes you think you might've won this round. Until you hear it again.
That quiet, telltale rustle of plastic, and you whip around so fast you almost knock over a display.
Oh, no you don't. Not again. You snap your head so fast it's a miracle you don't get whiplash, fully prepared to catch him in the act—
And sure enough—
There he is. Mid-drop.
Your grown ass boyfriend—fully aware of his actions—has paused in real time, two chocolate bars hovering over the cart like he's conducting a goddamn séance.
Your eyes widen. "Richard."
For a moment, neither of you move.
Then? He gasps, deeply scandalized, like you just hurt his feelings. "You never call me that unless I'm in trouble."
"Oh, you are," you mutter. You snatch the candy from his hands before he can even think about dropping them in the cart. "No snacks."
His shoulders slump like a petulant child. "No fun."
"I heard that."
"Good."
He sticks his tongue out for good measure, crossing his arms over his chest like a grumpy kid who just got his recess privileges revoked. It's so ridiculously dramatic that you have to physically stop yourself from laughing.
You shake your head, exhaling through your nose, and for a little while, he actually seems to accept defeat. Until you make the mistake of looking away for five fucking seconds. You're focused on checking labels, making sure you grab the right thing, and when you finally turn back—
Your cart is filled with snacks. Not just one or two things, but an entire stash. Oh, this is premeditated. This is organized crime.
He didn't just grab things—he curated this stash. The items are neatly arranged in a ridiculously methodical way: sweet snacks in one corner, salty snacks in another, a fucking theme emerging like he's opening a concession stand.
Like he actually took the time to plan this.
The worst part? You don't know when the fuck it happened. How long was your back turned? Ten seconds? Fifteen? That's all he needed?
"Dick!"
"What?" he says, all casual, as if he's not standing there like a gremlin who just pulled off a successful heist.
You gesture wildly at the cart. "What the fuck is all this?"
"Uhm... necessities?"
You groan, rubbing your temples. "We are not here for snacks!"
"Why not?"
"Because—" you let out another exasperated sigh. "Because we don't need them!"
He raises an eyebrow, smug. "Don't we?"
"DICK."
"Okay, okay," he laughs, leaning in to press a sweet little kiss to your temple, like that's going to magically make you forget he's being a total pain in the ass. "C'mon, baby. Just a few things? A little treat for your handsome, hardworking boyfriend?"
Your lips press together. Damn it. Your shoulders slump, and the second you sigh, his entire face lights up because he knows he's got you right where he wants you.
"Fine," you sigh, holding up one finger. "One."
His brows shoot up. "One type of snack?"
"One thing of snacks."
"Oh, baby." His grin stretches impossibly wide. "That's a challenge. Not for me, though."
And somehow, you already know what's coming. Sure enough—he takes full advantage of the loophole, grabbing a huge box of mixed candies, one of those ridiculous variety packs with every type of chocolate, and a party-size bag of chips—
All in one. All technically counting as one item. You look at the absurdly large variety pack sitting in the cart, then back at Dick.
He is positively beaming. Like he just won something. Like he calculated the loophole the second you gave in and set you up for this outcome, smiling so sweetly as if he didn't just blatantly manipulate the terms of the agreement.
This was a heist from the beginning.
You close your eyes, inhale slow, and mutter under your breath—
"I hate you."
"No, you don't." His grin is positively criminal, fully unbothered as he drops the massive box into the cart. "Besides, I followed the rules."
"You're unbelievable," you sigh, placing some pasta in the cart.
"I love you," he says with the most boyish grin he can muster, all sweet and soft and giggly.
"You are so annoying."
"And handsome," he adds, stealing another kiss as he proudly wheels the cart toward checkout, so pleased with himself.
You huff, shaking your head, but you don't argue. Because, yeah, he's an absolute menace. But he's your menace, and honestly? You wouldn't trade him for the world.
Later, you're curled up against his chest on the couch, munching on one of his snacks—he'd left them out, after all. You're doing nothing wrong.
He notices and suddenly sits up straight, eyes narrowing. "You've got to be kidding me."
You innocently glance at him, chips still in hand. "What?" you ask, playing dumb, your lip jutting out in the softest of pouts.
He leans back, crossing his arms. "You're really gonna just steal my snacks now? After all that?"
"Steal? I'm just... sharing in your success," you reply, smiling sweetly as you pop another chip in your mouth.
Dick's eyes narrow as if he's sizing you up, the moment of triumph slipping away from him. He reaches for the bag, but you pull it closer, feigning innocence.
"What's wrong, baby? Are you gonna deny me the pleasure of your snacks?"
You raise an eyebrow, letting your fingers hover over the chip bag like you're waiting for permission.
He grumbles, leaning forward, his hand still hovering over the bag like he's ready to strike. "That's my snack, sweetheart."
You give him a look, matching his smirk as you dramatically look at the chip in your hand and back at him. "What snack? This one?"
You take another one, slowly, teasing him as if you weren't completely aware of how worked up he's getting.
You yelp and pull the bag back, holding it over your head like a goddamn champion. "Nope, too slow!"
He groans, flopping back against the couch with a defeated sigh. "You're so evil."
You grin, sitting up a little to settle back into your spot on his chest, casually enjoying his chips. "You started it," you tease, eyes sparkling with mischief. "Besides, I'm just following the rules."
His lips curl into an exaggerated frown, but there's a gleam in his eye as he lets out a quiet chuckle. "You're lucky you're cute. But just wait. I'll get them back."
"Maybe," you reply, pulling another chip from the bag, "but I've got the high ground."
You settle back into your comfy position, leaning into him. For now, it's your turn to be the snack thief—and you'll enjoy every minute of it. Or so you think.
One second, you're smugly crunching on a chip, reveling in your stolen prize, and the next—Dick moves.
Fast.
Before you can react, his hands are on you, fingers digging into your sides in a ruthless, practiced attack. A shriek bursts from your lips as you're ambushed, his laughter mixing with yours as you squirm, trying and failing to escape his grip.
"NO—DICK—" you gasp between giggles, thrashing as he mercilessly tickles your ribs.
"Thought you could just steal my snacks and get away with it, huh?"
His voice is smug, teasing, as he effortlessly pries the bag from your grasp and tosses it onto the coffee table.
You let out an exaggerated gasp, scandalized. "How dare you."
"How dare you," he counters, grinning as he shifts above you, effortlessly pinning you against the couch. His hands settle on either side of your head, his weight warm and solid as he hovers over you.
You blink up at him, breathless from laughter, your heart racing for a very different reason now. His smile softens, that playful glint in his eyes melting into something warmer, something that makes your stomach flip.
"You're a menace," you huff, but there's no real bite to it.
Before you can argue—not that you were going to—he closes the space between you. His lips press against yours, slow and deliberate, his weight keeping you deliciously trapped beneath him.
He kisses you like he has all the time in the world, deepening it just enough to make your toes curl, his hand slipping up to cup your cheek.
And just like that, any thoughts of revenge, of stolen snacks, of anything that isn't him—disappear.
When he finally pulls away, his lips are still curved in a smirk, his forehead resting against yours.
"Mine," he murmurs, thumb brushing over your lower lip. "Both the snacks and you."
"Fine," you sigh dramatically. "But I'm still stealing your fries next time."
He groans, flopping onto you with a laugh. "Baby, no—"
But you just grin, wrapping your arms around him. Because, honestly? You've already won.
i... wow. sorry if this is too vulgar; i was at the gym when you posted, and like you've psychologically conditioned me, my underwear became.. awfully sticky.. and remained that way the whole day (which i would send a picture if i fear it'd be too far) because i decided to save the read for when i reached home. I'm grateful i did, because despite being shorter than the rest of your works, it was, as always, a masterpiece :)
i hope your exam went well (not sure what timezone you're in, but here friday is basically over... so you've completed it in my book) and as a little prize, here's another tiny brainworm loosely inspired by my experience with your notification today:
desperate! perv! agatha who gets off to your voice, ft. masturbation, pillow humping and fucking, sheet (?) sniffing, daddy kink, praise, voyeurism and dubcon depending on what you want i guess
maybe you're unaware of how your voice affects agatha, innocently obeying when she asks you to "do as many pushups as you can, saying my name each time, baby", and because you love your girlfriend, you'll heed her and her little quirks. you just presume she wants to properly know how many pushups you can do, since it's easy for you to cheat by just saying numbers, right?
or, maybe you're a little more aware then you let on. maybe you exaggerate your noises a little, grunting "agatha" in the husky tone you know she adores, voice gradually dwindling into a whimper of her name.
hopefully unbeknownst to you, agatha is imagining your voice calling "daddy" over and over. you haven't discussed it yet, and she's too embarrassed to bring it up, because what if it's too much for you? the sheets are still gently stained with your juices from your shenanigans with her from last night, and she was supposed to change them (and, well she technically was) -- but she saw the darkened part of the sheets and got all riled up again.
agatha groans as she hears you, and hastily fumbles for the mute button, not wanting you to hear her (maybe she instead presses the video button, and you see flashes of her rigid cock, her head thrown back, and you cant help but buck your hips each time you lower yourself to the ground).
"baby, darling, you've ruined me," agatha mumbles, moving to position a pillow between her legs because she doesn't want to touch herself, rather have your hands, your mouth, your cunt. fuck, she's starting to drip precum just thinking about you.
pushing her nose against the stain you left on the sheet, she inhales sharply, desperately, taking in the lingering scent of you as she humps the pillow like a dog in heat.
it's not enough, she realises, and she tugs the sheet up, inadvertently giving her the brilliant idea as your pillow falls; if she folds it in half, it forms a nice gap that envelopes her throbbing dick nicely, and she can't bother to think about the logistics of it when she's hearing your voice on the other end, already done with pushups, just rambling on about your day like you don't know what you do to her.
she brings the soiled sheet up to sniff, groaning as she jolts into the pillow, babbling "daddy's good little girl" and "my favourite cocksleeve" and "please, baby, you're so good for daddy". (if you can hear her, perhaps you pause your talking just to question what she's doing, but she's too far gone into her pleasure to even notice).
"daddy needs you so bad, pretty girl, ngh-" and she pulls out of the (now sticky) pillow to cum all over the sheets, and the idea that your leftover juices on the fabric are now covered in *her* cum sends another load out of her, splattering audibly as she bucks her hips into nothing.
(if she's muted the whole time, she delights darkly in the fact that you don't know a thing, her naive little pet. but perhaps she realises only after, that her mic and camera is on, when you pipe up with a "enjoy yourself, daddy?" and she grows humiliatingly hard all over again.)
I'll stop here because my head is pounding lol, but i hope you like it (and i hope the start doesn't make you uncomfortable). thank you for gracing us with your incredible writing miss covenofagatha, looking forward to your next piece, whatever it is 😉
sorry i keep bothering you in your asks, let me know if you want me to stop! also, please don't feel obligated to write this in full as a request or anything, it truly is just a wriggly brainworm thought I have that i thought you might like 💜
-lots of love, worm anon
Every time you send an ask it has me on the fucking floor jesus christ how do you keep coming up with hotter ideas
I don't even know how I would be able to write more about this because every single word is so perfect and so detailed and fuck so hot oh my god
"I'm gonna grab another." Steph shakes the empty bottle in her hand. "You want one too?"
Why isn't she kicking him out?
"I'll do it," Eddie offers quickly, jumping off the couch. "I know where everything is."
She's a bit surprised by the offer, but lets him take away the bottle without protest.
The kitchen isn't exactly hidden away in the layout of the apartment, but it shields him enough to have a silent freak out. He's not sure what's the end goal here. If she knows he's into her but isn't interested in anything herself, why let him stay? Are they supposed to sit in the acknowledged attraction as friends? It just might cost Eddie the last shreds of his sanity.
He presses the cold beers to his cheeks before uncapping them and heading back to the couch.
"Thank you." Steph takes the offered bottle. There's a remote in her other hand. "You wanna watch something? Family Feud should be starting soon."
A tactical change of topic, but what else could there be to talk about?
"Sure," he nods. When he sits back down, it feels like they've gotten closer, but it might be his mind simply playing trick on him.
They exchange small commentary, drinking and snacking on popcorn, a relaxing evening not dissimilar to what he could have with Wayne. But then, his hand scrapes against the bottom of the bowl. After they pick a couple of edible strays from between unpopped kernels, Steph leans forward to put the empty bowl on the table. When she falls back against the couch, she's definitely closer than before.
Eddie jumps when she pats his knee.
"Relax, I don't bite," she says, eyes glued to the screen. Only then does he realize how tense he's gotten and forces his muscles to loosen up. He sits more comfortably, their shoulders brushing when one of them raises the beer to their lips.
That distance also seems to be shortening, until Steph is leaning against him.
"Hey," he ducks his head down to take a look at her face. "You falling asleep on me?"
"No," she protests weakly. "'m watchin'."
Her eyes are indeed stubbornly half-open. He chuckles.
"Okay, but if you need me to go, just tell me. I'll even tuck you in," he offers.
She giggles, pressing herself firmer against his side, and it takes all of his willpower not to wrap his arm around her. It would be a step too far.
"What's so funny?" he asks instead, gently nudging her shoulder.
"Nothing," she says innocently. "Just, Robin gives me a good night's kiss when she tucks me in."
Eddie twists his head again to look at her face. She's biting at her bottom lip and her eyes are glued to the screen.
"Well, whatever you need for a good night's sleep," he reassures her. And, realizing some hearts might end up broken no matter what he does, he raises his arm to rest it on the couch. He doesn't dare wrap it around Steph's shoulders, but at least it's not stuck uncomfortably between their bodies.
With the show on screen slowly coming to an end, and the beer running through his system, he could happily fall asleep where he's sitting. But the overhead lights are still on, and he knows, deep in his gut, that it was a precaution to keep their hang out friendly. Gods only know what would happen if they were covered in the intimacy of a movie night's semi-darkness.
When the TV host says his goodbyes, Steph blinks her heavy eyelids unhappily.
"I have work tomorrow," she grumbles with disdain, like the mere thought leaves a nasty taste in her mouth.
Eddie huffs out a laugh.
"You do." He pats her shoulder sympathetically. "But you're also the boss, and you're not gonna fire yourself for being late, are you?" He cocks his head.
Steph hums thoughtfully, before turning her head towards him, eyes narrowed.
'You're a bad influence, you know that?"
"So I've been told," he grins, before disentangling himself from her warmth, because they've gotten way too close, and her mouth was right there for him to do something enormously stupid. "Let's clean up and I'll tuck you to bed like I've promised."
"I have to close up behind you," she reminds him with a twist of her mouth.
He looks up at her, empty bottles in hands.
"You really should invest in a spare key, you know?"
"Very thoughtful, thanks," she looks at him flatly, before swatting at him playfully.
"I mean, what if something happens?" he continues, gathering everything before she can grab it herself, and ignoring her protests. "Like, there's a fire and we have to save your cats?"
"Then, by all means, you're welcome to axe my door."
"I don't own an axe!" he points out with wide eyes.
"I'm pretty sure Wayne does."
Eddie huffs, dumping the greasy bowl from their popcorn in the sink.
"Yeah, probably."
He insists on cleaning the bowl, swatting away Steph's hands when she tries to take it away from him. But eventually, he's drying his hands and it's time to leave.
"Well, thank you for having me, I had a great time," he smiles, stalling.
"Me too." Steph smiles back. "Come over any time."
"Same time tomorrow?" he picks up the offer immediately, grinning as he slowly backs up towards the door.
"Sure, why not," Stephanie shrugs, and he didn't expect her to agree so easily. But then, she crosses her arms. "You know, just so I won't go insane talking to my cats."
"Not my words!" he reminds her with his hands raised placatingly. He stumbles into his discarded shoes, and it's probably high time to stop pushing his luck anyway. With less grace than he'd like while the woman of his dreams is watching, he steps into them, and springs back up, ready to say goodbye. "See you tomorrow, then?"
"Wait, wait wait!"
He cocks his head curiously, and is a bit disappointed when Steph presses conditioner into his hands.
"Ah, right. I totally forgot." He laughs awkwardly. But then, she's not letting go, so he looks up at her with a questioning sound.
Her eyes are glued to his mouth.
"You want your good night kiss?" he asks without thinking.
Thankfully, neither of them might be doing it right now.
"How else am I supposed to fall asleep?" Steph counters with a slight pout, briefly raising her gaze to meet his eyes.
This time, they lean in together.
It's soft and hesitant like they are each a delicate, porcelain statue. Like it is a good night kiss, one of many, closing the day with tenderness and care, with no plans to start anything more. It still leaves Eddie short on oxygen, too focused on the woman in front of him to think about something as trivial as breathing.
"Goodnight." Steph breaks away first with a soft smile.
Eddie nods stupidly, hands still clutching the bottle in his grasp.
"Goodnight."
sweetness like wine
fernando alonso
request: “she may seem like lollipops and rainbows but i bet behind closed doors she’s latex and whips.” with Fernando Alonso with Stroll!reader 71. “she may seem like lollipops and rainbows but i bet behind closed doors she’s latex and whips.”
tags: smut/pwp, age gap (20s/40s), stroll!reader, "innocent"!reader, doggy style, dirty talk & pet names
eros (the valentine's day collection)
your giggles were sweet. fernando alons for a long time couldn't figure out what kind of sweet. because while most saw lance's sister as the epitome of sweet. fernando knew that there was a heat to you, a certain kick that would leave most out of breath.
you made be like candy around the paddock, those around you hooked on your ability to make anyone you spoke to smile. dressed in soft whites save for the aston martin hat your brother made you wear. you were divine almost in the early summer sun.
but fernando didn't think of you as fluffy like cotton candy or tooth rotting sugary like milk chocolate. no, you were sweet the way wine was. it went down easy and quenched fernando's thirst.
to his surprise, the innocent stroll daughter wasn't as sweet as most first expected.
“she may seem like lollipops and rainbows but i bet behind closed doors she’s latex and whips.” was what fernando said to mark the last time they spoke to one another only a few weeks prior.
both men's gazes lingered on you when he made the comments. he had thought about it as you came to visit your brother and father on the track again. you had the summer off from your lovely graduate program overseas. neither your father nor brother knew what you got up other than your grades were spectacular.
fernando had an idea, but no confirmation that you were anything but a sweet virgin. that was until you bent over to adjust the strap of your shoe that he saw it. your behind was marked awfully dark for someone who is so innocent. it didn't look like an unfortunate sunburn, but rather bruises.
he smiled wickedly as he approached you quickly. when you stood back up he placed a hand on your arm and when you turned around he looked at you with those dark eyes of his. he said lowly, "be careful, i don't think you want everyone to see what you got up to last night."
your hand went to your behind and your eyes went wide. before you could say anything, he chuckled.
"not so innocent after all. i'm guessing you often have flavours of the week with your sexual partners." he leaned in a little bit with a hand casually on your hip. no one was watching you two, but your attention was solely on fernando as he asked, "why don't i be your flavour this weekend?"
you hated to admit it, you liked the older driver. your brother had a poster of him from a magazine that went 'missing' one afternoon. you nearly ripped the spine of the magazine trying to get it out. and now to have fernando alonso himself proposition you for sex. who were you going to deny him?
you swallowed and replied quietly, "will you be gentle?"
he pulled you in marginally closer, less to be close to you and more to establish dominance, "why would i do that? you wouldn't like that one bit." you also hated to admit that he was completely right.
-
fernando's hands felt good on your skin. it was the kind of feeling the enraptured you. it felt good, his hands were soft but strong. he had a grip as he touched your breasts that made your soul sing. there was a throb between your legs as he explored your covered skin.
"i see why your family is so protective of you. touching you is like touching an angel. your father made sure to send you to a university that would keep you away from trouble. but, your little rebellion is having men use you like a toy." he palmed your breasts, "you like it, don't you?"
"don't talk about my family right now. not right before we're going to fuck." you whined.
"mmm, well. since you asked so nicely. but, i want to know. where are you supposed to be tonight? i know your father asked." fernando said lowly as he started to unbutton your top. slowly he exposed your soft breasts to him. framed nicely by your bra.
you swallowed, "i told him friends were in town. i would be with them, they're nowhere here tonight. but my father trusts me." you looked away for a moment but fernando took you by the chin to look at him.
"well, not a total lie. i am a friend to the family. but tonight, i am something more more to you." then with a little help you got your shirt off and soon your bra.
you ended up on the bed and fernando got your skirt off of you, followed by the skimpy pair of panties, and even the short white socks you wore. you were naked on the bed and frenando gripped your sore ass. you hissed and jolted but he kept you pinned. you were naked and soon fernando was too.
"you look good like this, bent over for me. so precious that way, do you know how to be a good girl?" he asked softly. he pressed his forearm into your back again to keep you bent, "do you want to be my good girl?"
you nodded meekly and he rubbed his cock up against your entrance a little bit. you whined and attempt to squirm. but you weren't going anywhere, not unless fernando allowed it. it made sense that someone like him would get off to pretty young things who liked to be smacked around during sex. freak.
but then again, so were you. and as he sank his cock into you. you near bit the pillow to keep from being too loud. after all, your brother was in the next room over and you were supposed to be nowhere near the hotel. you shuddered under him and felt the swell of lust in your body.
fernando's pace left your core hot and his words felt like warm honey in your head, "mmm, that's a good girl. see, no need to be spanked until you were bruised." he made a pleased noise, "you're so agreeable, so soft. i love it. i can see why your family worries, something so whorish yet so sweet should be kept locked away." he kissed the shell of your ear as he rocked against you.
what a display you two made, to have fernando rut up against you aggressively.
there was a certain experience that fernando carried that left you holding on tightly to the covers. he was mature, but still carried heavy stamina that made you gasp into the covers like you were a virgin. he worked your body in a way that made everything run hot in your body.
"fuck, that feels good. fuck, that's it." you gasped as you arched your back and held on tightly. he fucked like someone your age, but had the ability to make you cum. his pace was punishing and full of force, it made the pleasure get knocked out of your mouth with sweet noises.
it was an intoxicating feeling, something about him just made you gasp and whine for more. you wanted him, you wanted him deeply. the sexual surge in your blood made you move yourself on his cock to meet his thrusts.
fernando held onto the back of your head and pushed your face into the pillows then shifted your hips to get better leverage of your sweet pussy. he let out a low groan as he continued to move against you. the pleasure was wrapped up around him, the feeling was hot, even without the implications of it. your cunt felt nice around him. your noises egged him on and he couldn't wait to get another feel of your sweet breasts. you really were the full package, and fernando thanked a lucky star that he finally got the chance to enjoy your beautiful body.
"you feel amazing." he mused, "i cannot believe i haven't tasted you before. you could get anything you want with a body like yours. a dangerous weapon for a girl your age."
you swore into the covers and let him continue to ravage you. the pleasure was a curl in your gut and you held on for dear. the hotel pillows were your only support while fernando fucked you. you wanted more of this, your braid, muddled with pleasure, was trying to figure out how to go to the next few races. you loved your family, but it was nothing compared to how fernando made you feel in that moment.
every other man you had been with had been blown out of the water by the pleasure fernando gave you. his thrusts were long, hard and fast, paced perfectly to rub up against your sweetest parts. it made you whine a little bit, only for fernando to push your face further into the covers.
"be good for me." he said, "i don't want to make that ass go purple. doesn't match the green of the team." he kissed the side of your neck as his thrusts became shorter but the force behind them was still there.
he laid his weight on you to keep you pinned with movements that made your thighs tremble. you weren't going to last much longer, not at the speed he was going. not with the heavy pleasure in your head. you could feel your head throb from the head rush.
"you feel like a dream." he said softly, "maybe i should keep you. i'll protect you, adore you, fuck you until you can't stand. isn't that what you want? someone to satisfy you?"
fernando's pace started to become erratic, the rhythm was sloppy as you reached your orgasm. he watched you fall apart under him. you came around his cock and tensed up. he continued to rut against you, the bed shook under the both of you as you tensed up then relaxed from the peak of pleasure. everything felt hot all over,
"beautiful." he sighed happily before he continued to fuck you with a feverish pace. everything felt hot all over and he couldn't get enough of you. when he came, he made sure every inch was inside of you before he finished. he painted your insides white as he slowed to a stop before he pressed his forehead against your sweaty back.
you laid out next to him and he held your face while he kissed your flushed face. you smiled lazily and said, "i have a feeling this won't stop after tonight."
"oh no, my love." he chuckled, "i have to find out what makes you scream and see if you're a good girl to not let anyone hear." <3
“so new”
In which your new boyfriend Matt finally shows you how you should’ve been taken care of all along.
⚠︎ warnings: fluff, smut, use of pet names (angel, baby ect) smut (p in v) unprotected sex (WRAP IT!!) just matt being a big softy!
“Fuck I know angel..j—ooohhh shitttt…just hang in there f’ me, m’ so close.”
————————————————
Before Matt you were really not much to anyone. No one got to know you, only sticking around for your body which hurt but you’d never admit that. You craved love, you craved gentle touches pure innocence. Or hell maybe even some gentle sex and not being treated like a rag doll thrown around—used for others pleasure.
The moment you met Matt you knew you wanted him. In any way you could have him. He was sweet, always giving you gum every day in class because you asked for a piece one fucking time now he always has your favortie flavor ready to go, he was talking to you like you mattered, constantly trying to learn stuff about you that he sure as hell will remember—just he was always in awe. You on the other hand were constantly trying to catch his eye, which of course you did. You were confident, loud, and sweet. Yet he could see more than just that behind those pretty eyes of yours which he always stares at and—
.He wanted to get to know you not just your body
————————————————
So finally a few months ago Matt asked you out. Of course you said yes. It was all new to you the dates, the innocent touches. Feeling loved and not just for your body. He was gentle constantly reminding you how pretty you are inside and out. At first you were confused why he wanted to even date you—the schools biggest slut, with nothing but a nice ass body, and who’s been around with almost everyone.
He just simply loved you. How couldn’t he? You had nice style, you were a really sweet girl. You were selfless which he hates and loves it at the same time. He wanted you too feel the love you deserve the gentleness, the dates, the flowers, holding hands, he wanted you too know you were more than just your body. You weren’t something to be used. He was gonns treat you how you were supposed to be treated all along.
————————————————
Loud almost pathetic moans slipped from past your swollen lips. Matt was above you his eyes squeezed shut and eye brows pinched together. It was a sight for sure, but it also felt so good. He was being so gentle treating you like glass making you comfortable.
He let out another grunt as his hips snapped forward burying himself deep inside you once again. He slowly peeled his eyes open to meet your fucked out gaze—your eyes half lidded and hazy, eye brows pinched together just like his, and your jaw slack letting out breathless moans.
“F-nngh..I know angel…oh fuuuuucckkkk y’ so tight.” He murmured out his eyes threatening to close again as you both fall into the pure euphoria of this. His dick plunging deep inside your spongy wet walls, the lewd squelching noises coming from your cunt as he fucks in and out of you.
He let out a grunt feeling your walls fluttering around him, you were getting close. Your eyes squeezed shut and your mouth hung open letting out little pleas and whines. He reached his hand up and brushed a sweaty lock of hair out of your face he could almost cum at the sight of you—but no you were finishing first and you were his top priority.
“Matttttt oooooohhh.” You manage to get out as your legs start to shake slightly. “Cmon good—nghh girl…cmon cum f’ me please?” He murmured out pressing gentle kisses down from your temple to your jaw. The second he murmured those words to you it’s like a wave crashed over you. Letting out loud moans and arching your back as you finished around him, a white ring forming at the base of his dick.
He trailed his lips back up your face letting out louder grunts and moving his hips a little faster plunging deep inside you. His mouth was open breath fanning against your flushed cheek as you whines and squirmed under him. “Fuck I know angel..j—ooohhh shitttt…just hang in there f’ me, m’ so close.” He breathes out.
You tilted your head to the side to meet his gaze your lips and noses brushing against eachother as you arched under him. “Fuck..m’ gonna cum.” He grunts out before he could pull out you wrapped your legs around his waist and let out a whine. “Please wan’ it in me.” You whispered out.
You never let a guy even think of cumming in you. But you trusted Matt so much and this is the best and most comfortable fucking sex you’ve ever even had. The second those words slipped out of your mouth, matts hips stuttered and he let out loud groans as he breathed out your name, his sticky white cum painting your inner walls.
You two stayed like that for a minute, coming down from your highs. Finally he eased out of your dripping cunt quickly cooing at you as you let out a hiss and whined. “Shhh s’ okay let’s just get you some water mkay?” He murmured out pressing a lingering kiss to your lips.
He slowly got up and went into the bathroom, as quick as he could he got a hot wash cloth and threw on some boxers. Once he was back in the room with two water bottles and a wash cloth he immediately began fussing over you.
“Let’s clean you up hm angel…yeah?” He whispers out prying open your achy legs and bringing the warm towel to your cunt, which was dripping with his and your release. “I know I know shhh..” he murmured out when you started to whine from the slight overstimulation.
You quickly chugged your water before placing it on the night stand. “M’ hungry too..” you whisper out an almost shy, and guilty smile forming on your face—you definitely weren’t used to being taken care of. And one part of you felt guilty for even asking him to do something for you, you felt like you didn’t deserve it.
—————————————————
By the end of the night you realized how much you felt at peace. His reassurance, his love, his sweetness, his gentle touches. They all made you feel needed, like you were actually meant to be loved like this. And it all felt—so new
hey queen was wondering if you could do an angsty rafe fic don’t care what the topic is just need my soul to be crushed tbh…
anyway love your work😛😛
lamy's note: thank you bby!! i hope i did it justice! 💗
the evening clung to the air, heavy and suffocating like a storm waiting to break. you stepped into the mansion, your heels clicking against the marble floors, echoing in the quiet stillness of tan lines and rosegold hues. everything about tonight felt off. rafe’s texts had been sporadic, distracted. but you’d convinced yourself it was just his usual mood swings—the volatility that came with his name, his family, his demons.
“just come over,” he’d said earlier, voice low like he was speaking through gritted teeth. you’d asked if everything was okay, but the curt reply and abrupt end to the call told you everything you needed to know. he was pissed about something. probably ward. maybe topper. or… maybe you.
anxiety gnawed at the edge of your thoughts, a sharp-toothed beast sinking into your resolve. still, you went. because it’s rafe. and you’ve never been able to stop yourself when it comes to him. his pull was magnetic, a gravity you couldn’t escape no matter how much it burned.
but as you approached the living room, your heart sank. voices. hers.
sofía.
your pulse quickened, thundering in your ears. you knew sofía had been hanging around more. her smile always too sweet, her touch lingering a second too long when she’d brush rafe’s arm at parties. you’d pretended not to notice. pretended to trust him. because rafe promised you, over and over again, that he was yours.
but now, as you turned the corner, you saw it.
rafe’s back was to you, broad shoulders taut under the strain of whatever this was. sofía stood inches from him, her hand on his chest, and before you could even process what was happening, she leaned in, pressing her lips to his.
for a moment, it felt like time stopped. your lungs seized, your vision blurred. the room tilted like you’d just stepped off a spinning carnival ride, nausea and disbelief crashing into you all at once.
“rafe,” you choked out, voice cracking under the weight of betrayal.
his head snapped up, his blue eyes wide with shock. “baby, it’s not—”
“this isn’t what it looks like!” sofía interrupted, a perfect picture of feigned innocence, but you saw the glint in her eye, the slight curl of her lips. she wanted this. she wanted you to see.
“what the fuck is wrong with you?” you spat, glaring at her. your hands were trembling now, the fight-or-flight adrenaline coursing through you making every nerve hum with raw energy. “are you seriously trying to act like i didn’t just see you?”
sofía shrugged, crossing her arms over her chest. her expression was maddeningly calm, like she was toying with a piece of prey. “he didn’t kiss me back,” she said smoothly, like that somehow made it better.
“get the fuck out,” rafe growled, his voice low and dangerous. the venom in his tone made even sofía hesitate for a split second before she gave a mocking smile and sauntered out of the room, hips swaying like she’d won.
silence hung between you like a blade, sharp and ready to sever whatever fragile thread was left.
“you’re unbelievable,” you finally said, your voice trembling, barely containing the torrent of emotions surging within. “she’s been throwing herself at you for weeks and you just… what? let her?”
“no!” rafe took a step toward you, his face a mess of desperation and guilt, but you recoiled, and it hit him like a slap. “baby, i swear to god, i didn’t—i wouldn’t. she kissed me, i didn’t even—”
“but you didn’t stop her.”
he froze, his jaw tightening as your words landed. “what?”
“you didn’t fucking stop her, rafe.” your voice cracked, the dam breaking as tears spilled over despite your best effort to keep them at bay. “how am i supposed to believe you when you just stood there?”
“baby, please.” his voice broke, raw and pleading. he reached for you again, his hands trembling now, but you stepped back, shaking your head. the distance between you felt insurmountable.
“i trusted you,” you whispered, the words bitter on your tongue. “i fucking trusted you.”
“and you still can,” he insisted, his voice rising with desperation, his eyes glistening with unshed tears. “you’re it for me. you’re the only one, i swear. she’s nothing, okay? she’s fucking nothing.”
“but i’m supposed to just ignore what i saw?” your voice rose too, the pain clawing its way out of your chest, demanding to be heard. “how many times do i have to wonder if i’m enough for you, rafe? if you even fucking want me?”
“you are,” he said fiercely, the raw intensity of his words cutting through the tension. he stepped closer, slow and deliberate, until you were backed against the wall. his hand cupped your face, forcing you to meet his gaze. “you’re everything. i need you to believe me.”
you shook your head, fresh tears spilling over, your chest heaving as you tried to catch your breath. “i don’t know if i can.”
his hand dropped, his expression crumpling as the weight of your words crushed him. “don’t say that,” he begged, his voice barely above a whisper. “don’t fucking say that.”
“then prove it,” you said, your voice trembling but firm, the storm inside you raging. “prove to me that i’m not wasting my time loving you.”
his eyes searched yours, frantic, his chest rising and falling as he tried to find the words. and for the first time, you saw it. fear. raw, unfiltered fear. because he knew. he knew he was on the verge of losing you, and for once in his life, rafe cameron didn’t have a plan to fix it.
and the worst part? you weren’t sure you wanted him to.
Endearing Encounters
billy the kid x fem! reader
You’ve never been allowed in the outside world, being told about its dangers your whole life. But you eventually get tired of being confided to the walls of your home and take matters into your own hands to see what the world really is like. (Tangled inspired au!!)
authors note: this is the option that won in the poll so here u go!!
Footsteps. Quick and incoming. “Where in the hell did The Kid go?”, the voices chant. A bush became Billy’s solace, throwing himself into hiding.
It didn’t take long for the footsteps to carry on elsewhere. He slowly emerged out of the clump of shrubs, hands still shaking from the previous encounter when he saw only what could be described as a vision in a dress.
You didn’t notice the adoration practically ozone out of the man’s eyes, too enamored by the warmth from the sun on your skin and the sound of running water flowing from the lake into your ears. You weren’t supposed to be out, your mother restricted your access to the outside world warning you of its dangers. You had spent your childhood watching from the window, until you finally managed to muster the courage to slowly lower yourself down with an old disregarded rope you found hidden in your mother’s closet. She had left to one of her monthly trips to town to restock on supplies that day, meaning you had a couple of days to explore the woods before she came back.
You had a stick in hand, trying to rake away the leaves in an attempt to clear a pathway for yourself to walk freely on the ground. You weren’t fond of the loud crunch sound that occurred when your boots stepped on the leaves and much rather preferred the soft dirt. Thankfully it didn’t take long, letting you get back to skipping around the forest with glee with the breath of fresh air filling your senses. Unknowingly to you, someone was following.
Billy couldn’t help himself, curiously was a strong emotion after all. He had never seen you around before, which was weird because he thought he had knew everyone from this small town and there was no way he would have missed such a jewel. Maybe if he hadn’t accidently stept on one of the leaves you had swept to the side, he would have been able to put a name to your face before you noticed his presence.
“Who’s there?!!”, you exclaim with your voice coming out more shaky than anticipated as you suddenly turned around, holding the large stick in your hand as a defense piece.
He quickly puts his hands up to prove his innocence. By the way you were holding the branch in your arms you must’ve known his reputation. Billy the Kid. Most famous outlaw in the county. It wouldn’t be long before you turned him in and the search party would be coming for him hot on his heels. “Hey listen here now I don’t mean no harm-“
“Who are you??”, you interrupted him. He must have been one of the dangers your mother warned you about regarding the outdoors. “Not only is outside world itself dangerous, but so are the men that reside within it”.
You were trying to come off as threatening, but all Billy saw on your face was confusion. Did you not see the wanted posters with his face plastered on throughout town? Did you never hear the murmurs surrounding his name?
“I ain’t here to hurt you.. Was just walking around is all”, he murmurs with his hands still up in the air as he scans your face.
“You stay away from me!!!”, you bellowed with the stick in your shaky hands pointed in his direction, “I don’t fall for tricks”.
He chuckles at that with his head bowing down not wanting you to think he was making a mockery out of you. “I wasn’t countin’ on pullin’ a trick on ya darling”. My name’s Billy and I ain’t no sort of trickster”, he says with his hand outstretched to yours in a greeting.
You don’t return the gesture. Letting out a small “humph” before you went back on your way. You’re ablw to ignore his presence up till you reach the river, the only way to cross it being a path of large stones.
You jump on one rock, feeling confident until you almost lost your balance. Your arms stick out by your sides as you attempt to blamage to prevent falling in the water when you hear a muffled chuckle from Billy. “Do you think this is funny or something?”, you try to sound lighthearted despite being absolutely terrified by the prospect of falling into the water.
“Funny? No, I would never think such a thing darlin’”, he says trying to hold in his bursts of laughter. “You know if you just let me help”-
“I got it!!!”, you quickly exclaim despite your position proving otherwise. Your mother was right, the outside world was scary. You never thought the water you would read about in books and seen in paintings would be trying to engulf you in, eat you whole.
Billy must have noticed the distress on your face because he offers his hand to help you balance yourself. He doesn’t tease under his breath and instead his eyes look at you with care and something else you can’t quite identity yet. Despite all your previous protests, you take his hand.
At the end of the river’s path of stones, you have to make one big jump in order to make it back to land. You were utterly terrified, never experiencing anything even close to this back in your sheltered household. but Billy catches you as you throw yourself in his arms. You choose not to mention how he held you a little closer until he let go.
You were about to thank him when the sound of rushed footsteps emerge back into the air. Billy’s suddenly on alert once again, the gentleness in his eyes quickly evaporating away. He plucks a white poppy. it’s beauty contrasting from his rough and calloused hands, from the ground and slowly tucks it behind your ear. “For you. It matches your dress pretty”.
You know he has to go, he was being chased down for a reason unknowingly to you, but a small part of you wants him to stay so the two of you can continue your playful banter.
Billy smiles at the sight of your downcast eyes. “Don’t worry darlin’, i’ll see ya again soon ya?”, he says quickly before he runs off as he hears the voices coming from the herd of men.
Maybe your mother was wrong, maybe there was some gentleness in the world left.
